Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone has experienced similar as I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much, but you know how it is.

I’m 8 months postpartum, no periods and still breastfeeding but we’ve been TTC baby 2…maybe a bit crazy but it’s always been our plan to have them close together.

Two weeks ago we finally got a positive pregnancy test (extremely faint, could barely see but it was definitely there). Over the fortnight we’ve taken so many tests, the positives aren’t getting much darker, and the negatives are still appearing thick and fast. In total there’s been 5 positive vs 10+ negative.

Today, out of curiosity I decided to take some OPK tests as we had them in the bathroom and they’re showing a really dark test line.

I have an appointment with a midwife on Thursday to do my bloods as I explained the +/- situation and they booked me straight in. Has anyone had this happen? We’ve had 2 miscarriages in the past so trying not to get our hopes up too much but I’m just so excited too!

OPKs can't tell the difference between LH and HCG so if you're pregnant you'll get a blazing positive on an OPK. Have you thought about the possibility of the hook effect on that you may need to dilute your urine so the pregnancy test can work? If there's too much HCG in your urine you'll get a false negative.

Oh really? I didn’t know this was a thing! I’ll try this when I get home, thank you @Countingchicks x
