Extra high HCG beta at 4 weeks

Hi ladies

I worry about anything! But I can't seem to work out why my single baby (I've had a scan) beta HCG at 4 weeks was as high as 4214! I'm 6 weeks now and have seen 1 heart beat. I'm 38, 2 pervious miscarriages and a high HCG is just coming back as molar or downs. Has anyone had this that hasn't been multiples and everything been ok?
TIA x

Who has told you that is too high? It’s only really a week ahead so nothing to be worried about.

Your dates could be slightly out, or a number of other things.

I mean this kindly but if you're this stressed out so early, are you seeking help for your anxiety?

It's way above the good amount on every site I'm looking at. You could google the levels are measured in iu/L I would love for someone to tell me I'm measuring it all wrong.
I know my anxiety is bad but I have recurrent miscarriages so would say it's quite normal to be worried when things arnt of the norm.
I was actually 4 weeks exactly according to my glow app and 14 DPO (clear blue solid smiley) when I did the initial HCG. My progesterone was below normal too but have pessaries for that. I have an appointment Thursday and will share my worries with a consultant but was just looking for hope from someone that's experienced similar that's all...

If you’re pregnant with a confirmed intrauterine pregnancy and a heart beat the level of HCG really isn’t important at all.

All HCP’s would be using it for is to confirm pregnancy. They might pay more attention to levels if they were suspicious of an ectopic but that’s clearly not the case here as you’ve seen the baby in your uterus on a scan. Also again, regarding Molar pregnancy; that’s not the case, you’ve seen an actual baby with a heart beat.

Downs, well you’re too early on for anyone to have any suspicions or concerns about that and your levels aren’t scarily high. Like I said, you’re about a week ahead, which depending on where you are in week four, might only actually be a few days.

Some women just have high hCG.

Which type of scan did you have? Remember it's hard to be absolutely certain of dates too so you could be a few days off. However, I had a scan at 5+5 due to brown spotting and recurrent miscarriages and we saw one little bean with a heartbeat. Measuring a bit behind what I thought so they got me back in 2 weeks later to check growth and to everyone's surprise, there were 2 little beans with heartbeats Grin My HCG was around 8000 just before 5 weeks which we knew was a little on the high side but I kept being told that HCG varies so much for women that it was impossible to draw any conclusions from HCG levels alone.

My HCG reading was 12,500 at 5 weeks 3 days. The midwife went 'wow' & I started to panic but am now 27 weeks with one and all looking good so far! Had the NIPT as well and all was fine there (very low risk). Hope all is ok!

Thankyou for your reply's. I was starting to worry but been for another scan and now they are saying I'm a week further. Maybe it was the private scan v NHS scan... just feeling slightly better now. Rollercoaster of emotions continues. X
