So I posted a couple of weeks ago about how long my early MC would last at 6 weeks. I had bleeding and lost tissue. We went for a scan at 6wk +1 to be told the sac was empty so my scan was inconclusive but they suspected MC - I carried on bleeding and it only stopped 2 days ago.

We went back for a follow up internal scan today (7wk +4) and they said my pregnancy has progressed - something has grown in the sac, but there is still no heartbeat. I don't know what the measurements are, but they said as far as they are concerned I am still pregnant and need another scan in 7-10 days. They won't do bloods or check HCG.

My dates can't be wrong, my LMP was 9 June and I got a pos ovulation test on CD14 (June 22) - we have not had sex since June 24, so even if I ovulated again or later I couldn't have conceived after then.

Has this happened to anyone else? My son had a heartbeat at 5wk +5, so this feels wrong to me.

I had come to terms with it and was ready to start trying again, but burst into tears when they said the pregnancy had progressed. I still don't know what's going on and it's killing me!

@PlantLadyMum
At 7.4 weeks you would be hoping to c something and a heart beat by now, I would prepare for the worst but hope for the best, not trying to be mean when I say that did they say how far along they thought the pregnancy was, I went for a scan at 7 weeks but only measuring 5+6 days to them I lost that pregnancy.

Thanks. It's very frustrating - we had geared ourselves up to try again and were expecting to be told I had passed everything and would not need any medical management. I feel like today just gave us false hope. I'm looking at private scans even though I'll get an NHS one in 7-10 days, but it feels like ages away.

Just an update - my scan today showed no further growth so I'm having an MVA tomorrow... and they don't sound fun!

@PlantLadyMum firstly I am so sorry for your loss. I had an MVA last year, mine was due to retained products from a twin miscarriage at 16 weeks. To be honest I found the process good as was heavily bleeding before and after pretty much nothing and I felt fine with no pain at all. For me it was drawing a line under what happened as physically I didn't continue symptoms. I hope it all goes as planned tomorrow
