Hi all...Im 21 weeks pregnant and for the past week or so i have been experiencing some wet patches of clear water like fluid in my pants...nothing severe but enough to feel wet...i went into triage on Friday and they did an internal examination and said they couldnt see anything to be concerned about as i was worried my amniotic fluid was leaking...this has been accompanied by the odd period like cramp and i just cant stop worrying despite having been seen by the dr...has anyone else experienced this??

I'm not that far on, @TARAGENADE, but I wanted to give this a bump for you.

I've had the same since near the middle of the second trimester - and did the same as you did. Called doctors, midwifes, etc. I was told repeatedly that everything was fine. The discharge was enough to make my underwear feel decidedly wet (sorry about the tmi), and it was clear and watery and didn't look much like normal white mucus-y discharge. It never made sense to me where that all came from if it wasn't amniotic fluid. All I can say is that I'm almost 34 weeks along now, and I still have a normal and sufficient amount of amniotic fluid, and a baby who is somehow able to kick both my bladder and my ribs at the same time. So I figure they must've been right, the this-can't-be-right amount of clear, watery discharge is in fact just normal at not at all dangerous.

Thanks so much for your responses...gosh its crazy how this has just had me so worried and its just been on my mind non stop. I guess thats the amazing thing of becomming a parent the worrying starts way before baby is even born ...thanks againSmile...ive been checking my underware all day sorry for the tmi again... and its not wet , although it constantly feels like Im leaking its the weirdest thing

It was on my mind non stop, too, for a while. I was so scared I was leaking amniotic fluid and would end up having to deliver way prematurely, or maybe even lose the baby before he would be able to survive in case of premature birth. I still get the leaky feeling sometimes, and it'll still make me worry, even though I've had it periodically for months with no problems arising from it. In fact they told me that unless there's a gush of water or a constant trickle enough to soak your clothes and run down you legs, it's not likely to be your waters breaking or leaking. They did check me for a UTI, though, which I also didn't have.

I certainly know what you mean about worrying about your child before he/she is even born. Even now that I can feel him moving around throughout the day, but every time he takes a nap I'll worry about the lack of movement instantly. It never stops.

I had this start around the same time with all 3 of my pregnancies.
Change and increase in discharge
