Since just before 36 weeks I have been ‘leaking’ a clear fluid, just small gushes but enough to cause concern where I have had to go to the maternity day unit to have the fluid checked.
I went just before 36 weeks and again this week at 38 weeks, both times it tested negative for amniotic fluid. Iv been wearing small pads to manage it.
This morning I woke up and there was a fish a fluid. Not unusual to what I have experienced, but then there was another and another. Went to the toilet and my pad, knickers and Pajamas where soaked, I am a wee bit then more fluid leaked out. I don’t know what to do now as I have been tested twice already and don’t know wether this is it. Please please can anyone offer any advise? X

Call the Labour line and tell them! When my waters broke like this, they asked me to come in right away to get checked. Baby was born 4 hours later. All the best to you Flowers

I’d ring again and put a pad on it to monitor in the meantime, sounds very much like waters.

ExcitingTimes2021 · 01/08/2021 06:52

I have just re-read my original post and there are so many mistakes. Sorry about that I was panicking. 😂😂😂. Iv put a big mat pad on and lead down, just going to wait 30 mins and then stand up and see what falls out. If there is fair amount again I will ring them. I feel sick! X

No one on here can help you. You need to go back to triage and see them.

BertieBotts · 01/08/2021 07:09

If it keeps coming out then it's likely waters. You should go to hospital rather than waiting around.

sarah13xx · 01/08/2021 07:19

You’re not going to be bothering them even though you’ve been twice before, it won’t even be the same people so just ring them and see. Doesn’t really seem like it could be much else from what you’ve described though!

recall · 01/08/2021 07:23

I’d ring definitely.....if that much has come out I think there may be a risk of infection if you leave it, not the sort of thing that will just sort itself out now.

Findmeatthebeach · 01/08/2021 07:28

Definitely phone op! That is what they are there for and you say there is more fluid than normal.

TubeOfSmarties · 01/08/2021 07:37

Please call the Labour ward / midwife. You are not bothering them.

ExcitingTimes2021 · 01/08/2021 08:29

Thanks ladies. I called at 7am. They said not to rush getting there and go have some breakfast and whatnot first so I have done. We are just setting off now, soaked through 5 Mat pads so I’d be very surprised it’s it’s not starting. I’ll keep you updated. Cheers for the advise. I just panicked this morning. Only properly sorted my hospital bag yesterday!!! X

Deffo your waters. They will book you in for an induction in 24 hours if you haven't started labour naturally by then, good luck.

sarah13xx · 01/08/2021 08:34

@ExcitingTimes2021 good luck 😊

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 01/08/2021 08:34

Good luck op!

Bennetgirl · 01/08/2021 08:45

Sounds gross but smell it. Your waters have a distinctive sort of sweet smell. It definitely sounds like it!

Good luck xx

Fingers crossed for you to start moving on your own. Good luck

TheGriffle · 01/08/2021 10:26

Good luck @ExcitingTimes2021 my waters went with dd2 a week and a bit before my due date but labour didn’t start on its own so I went in the next day and had a pessary. That’s all that was needed and she was born 5.5 hours after the pessary went in. I didn’t require any more interventions.

sarah13xx · 01/08/2021 10:26

@ExcitingTimes2021 oh wow, just as well you went then! Hope things start moving on their own. It won’t be long until you meet her 🥰

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 01/08/2021 10:28
