Can I hear all your stories on how long it took for you to conceive? When you had sex? Currently trying to get pregnant 💙

Hello Smile

You'll find loads of helpful stuff in Talk>Conception if you haven't looked already.

For me I came of the pill in February and conceived at the end of June. I got to know my cycle using ovulation sticks then focussed having sex 5 days before to 2 days after conception. The advise is just to have sex every 2 days through your cycle but because I had a 40 day cycle I wanted to have a bit of an idea when to take a break without missing the crucial time.

How about you, have you been trying for long?

It's taken 16 months for me (currently 18 weeks pregnant) although we did have chemical pregnancies month 1 and month 6 of trying. Had booked into the assisted conception unit by 14 months and pretty much given up all hope with the natural approach. We continued to have sex every other day during the fertile window though and it eventually happened and stuck just before our fertility clinic appointment!

When I first started trying it was a naive and casual approach of just having sex every other day during my fertile window but before long, I was on conception vitamins, tracking BBT, using ovulation strip tests, drinking pomegranate juice, eating Brazil nuts, seed cycling, off caffeine, having very minimal alcohol... it's not fun TTC for long but keep going, keep positive and hopefully it will happen for you much quicker than it did for me!
