Bra fitting in pregnancy

Hello,

Here to ask silly questions. I'm only 7 weeks but I've been so swollen and uncomfortable in my usual bras and look like I'm bursting out of them. I've taken the plunge and booked a fitting for tomorrow but now wondering if this is a strange time to do that.

What has been everyone's experience of bra size increase in pregnancy? Do things last? Do you think I'll now stay this size for several months until the third trimester or will it be constant change?
I just want to be comfortable and feel confident at least I look well supported above my big bloated belly Hmm

Thanks in advance

Have you tried boob or bust fitting? I know my usual boob or bust size and having rechecked I’ve gone up 3 cup sizes (G to HH) since finding out I was pregnant. They have great pregnancy guides.

I went to Bravissimo for a fitting at about 28 weeks and wish I’d done it earlier in my pregnancy! They were very helpful and clearly do a lot of pregnancy fittings. They recommended fabrics with some stretch to them, and having the bra fitted at the tightest clasp (rather than the loosest as you normally would) to allow space for your ribcage to expand. I’ve gone up 2 cup sizes and one band size during pregnancy. I think a lot of the change happened early on, but honestly the impact on my self esteem of having shape again is worth the cost of a few new bras!

Getting fitted sooner rather than later will enable you to get maximum value out if your pregnancy bras. Agree with the PP that Bravissimo does great pregnancy fittings.

Another vote for Bravissimo here. I went from a DD to a G by 8 weeks and their bras have been amazing at relieving back pain from that.

Thanks everyone. Glad I haven't been premature in trying to get this addressed. Can't wait to have something that fits properly.

Oh my goodness, having been this afternoon I can't recommend this enough!
I feel so much better and more comfortable.

Advice was maybe pop back after 20 weeks and a nursing bra.

Glad it went well!

I went at 13 weeks, but I’m now 20 weeks (tomorrow) and have gone up another size.

I'm thinking about doing this at the end of august when I will be 12/13 weeks so I have comfortable ones for the new term at work. Has anyone used either jojo maman or marks for fitting? I'm smaller in the boob department and bravismo look like they would be to big for me.

JuneySunshine · 31/07/2021 20:22

@Cuwins I went to Marks and they were lovely. You can pre-book a slot online too.

Thanks @JuneySunshine

@Cuwins
You might be surprised. D/DD really doesn’t look that big at all on a small band size. If there’s a Bravissimo not far from you I’d really recommend giving it a go. Marks don’t do good fittings in my experience.

Tho I’m glad you were pleased with yours OP.
