Sickness bug 33w

I spent all of yesterday/last night looking after my 22 month old who picked up a nasty tummy bug from nursury. Started feeling sick this morning and started throwing up and having diarrhea this afternoon. I feel horrible, such bad stomach cramps too. Called the dr who said it wont harm the baby, which is good. I don't really have a question I just feel very sorry for myself and so poorly 😢

So sorry for you, sickness bugs are such a fear of mine. Good thing is they don't last long so you're probably through the worst of it. And as the doctor said it is one of the bugs that are perfectly harmless to baby.

Where in the country are you? I'm 33w too with a DC at nursery who's not quite himself today and as I know tummy bugs are going round I am worried! Especially as we have family staying over this weekend. My anxiety has been sky high today worrying that he'll start throwing up any minute. Fingers crossed!

Feel better!

Sympathies! Our nursery sent a message round saying there’d been some cases of norovirus. The next day DD (3) started being sick. She did recover in 24 hours (appetite took a while longer to return) and amazingly none of the rest of us did get it. I went into mad panic washing mode! I’m 31 weeks pregnant and really didn’t want to be ill!

Illnesses are rife at nurseries at the moment.

I had one at 29 weeks or so and honestly it was vile

Fine in the end and no worries for the baby, just had to get through it

I’d stock up on bottled water, lucozade and dioralyte if you can!! (Oh and the usual loo roll and dettol/ washing powder to boil wash all towels and sheets when it’s all over haha)

I Hope you feel better soon, can you get a few early nights in? :) x

Good luck, OP. I got this a few times when mine were babies and it passed very quickly - hang on to that! You'll feel relief as suddenly as it came on. Thanks

I am also sat in bed feeling very very sorry for myself after catching a stomach bug from 18 month old DS. DH also came down with it so looking after DS has been a total nightmare today 🙈 luckily not currently pregnant though - could only imagine that would make things 1000X more uncomfortable!!
Feel so unlucky - took DS to his first ever toddler group on Friday (lockdown baby) and he catches something - typical 🙄.
Don’t really know the point of this post 😂 just to let you know you have my sympathies!!

Thanks guys it makes me feel a bit less crappy I'm not alone in this. Managed to get ds to sleep. Of course now he is starting to feel better he wanted to play. Now back to throwing my guts up 😭🤦🏼‍♀️

Poor you OP.

I had what I believe to have been norovirus last week, I came down with it after DD picked it up from nursery. The vomiting was continuous but was over in 24 hours and fortunately the 'other end' wasn't too bad but I still feel a bit ropey and not %100 now.

Small sips of water, don't gulp it down as your body will reject it. Suck on ice cubes if you can.

Once the vomiting stops I reccomend rehydration sachets (you can make up your own quite easily if you can't get out to the shop)

This was me three days ago, I'm 37 weeks today. it was honestly one of the worst bugs I've ever had and I felt very sorry for myself all day but it really only lasted 24 hours. My husband has it now. It didn't affect my daughter too badly, she was only sick once. It was so hard looking after a toddler and suffering at the same time as well as being heavily pregnant. Hope you feel better soon and it doesn't last long. You have my sympathies.

HyphenCobra · 30/07/2021 23:26

Oh it's horrible isn't it!
At 34 weeks with my second i caught Norovirus!! OMG i have never felt so ill in my life!!!!
Was throwing up exorcist green bile ALL day. As in, filling buckets with the stuff!!! Honestly felt like i was dying.
I didn't get checked out or have fluids etc, think i couldn't face leaving the house for days after catching it 😂 We were both absolutely fine xx
