Booking first midwife appointment

I had a very strange first pregnancy so in a lot of ways this is like my first time with many things
I'm 7 weeks and just looked at the NHS website and it said I should book my first appointment soon. I feel silly doing it as I don't feel pregnant at all. I have zero symptoms and I'm worried they will do a blood test and it will turn put I was never pregnant at all 😔

The midwife won't check you're pregnant, they do bloods but it's not to check up on you it's for your iron levels. Don't worry about not feeling pregnant yet!

I had no symptoms either. I’m 19 weeks now!

Where I am, you self refer around 7 - 8 weeks, and they book an appointment with you between 8 - 10 weeks. They don’t check that you’re pregnant; as a rule, they run bloods for iron levels and take your weight and blood pressure, etc.

Then there’s nothing until your 12 week scan, and after that, your 16 week appointment. They don’t check the heartbeat with a Doppler at 16 weeks where I am anymore, so that was just a urine sample with a nurse. And then your 20 week scan! It’s all felt quite hands off.

Congratulations!

Funnily enough, I just had my booking appointment and felt a bit like a fraud sat there doing all this stuff when I didn’t even know if there was a viable baby in there. I had a miscarriage last time which is why I think I felt that, but it’s not an abnormal thing for a lot of women to think about, I would say. Symptoms are so unrelated, and yep as others said they don’t actually ever check if you’re pregnant at that booking appointment. Perhaps get a private scan beforehand so you can ease your nerves slightly?

Congratulations op!
Just echoing others it's just routine bloods and a lot of questions!
I had no symptoms either at 7 weeks! They came 9w-11w and that's it!
Your at a good stage to get a private scan!

Congratulations!

They usually like to do the booking appointment and bloods between 8-10 weeks, so you really should contact them.

Enjoy the lack of symptoms. FYI - having symptoms does not always mean a pregnancy is healthy, it is no indication of this.
