It’s my fourth baby, all 7-8lb never no issues with fundal height actually my last was 2 weeks behind.
Measuring over 4 weeks to big and have a scan.
My biggest worry is obviously the baby, but the birth, last 2 were water births, I really wanted a home birth (last baby) or another water birth. I think I would now struggle with anything else. I know I have been very lucky.
Just after other stories.
I have put so much weight on (blame the fact was in lockdown lol). Not been tested for gd but assuming I will be.
Will they say no to a home birth/water birth is the baby is massive? 🤦🏼‍♀️, or have gD? Thanks I’m very anxious.

If you are classed high risk they will advise against a home birth. Fundal height measurements are not very good tbh, so many factors can throw them off. I wouldn't worry too much until you have had a growth scan. If baby is big on there then you may be referred for a GTT and further scans to monitor growth. Biggest worry with a big baby tends to be shoulder dystocia. Good luck

Our 1st was an average 7lb 7oz followed by a 10lb 12oz, 9lb 10oz and twins with 17lb combined birth weight. Current is measuring well above the 97th centile too. Had GTT with all 2nd onward but clear each time. I had natural unassisted deliveries with the 2 large singletons but both had polyhydramnios too so it was advised that I be in hospital in case of complications. 2nd had meconium in waters so did need attention at birth, his shoulders were broad so took a bit of effort to push out and there was a bit of a panic in the room. 3rd was a pretty easy and complication free birth. I had elcs with twins due to breech position and going elcs with this one too rather than have an early induction.

My babies have ranged from 8lb11 to 9lb10.

My 9lb10 baby (3rd) was my easiest labour.

My 4th measured very big, no GD, (allegedly 9lb at 37wks) and was offered an induction at 40wks (so not early) based on that. I agreed for other reasons. Firstly I have a history of 42wk pregnancies and eventual inductions, so the likelihood was i would be induced 2wks later anyway, I was allergic to blood thinners so being induced meant 2 fewer weeks of them, i was over 40. They were only concerned about his size as he was predicted to be over 5KG/11lb. They were very much of the opinion that id had 3 reasonable sized babies before so should be OK.
He was born at 40+1 weighing 9lb5, so not nearly as big as predicted.

Dc5 (5wks) was predicted to be average sized. She was induced at 41wks due to my age, she was 9lb. I could have had a water birth with her and used the MLU onsite. I had her on delivery but it was so quick anyway it didn't matter.

I guess though it will come down to your individual trust. I think GD would complicate things but just measuring large might not.

@Chelyanne you can't have long to go now?

Tinydancer321 · 30/07/2021 11:31

Thanks guys!
All 3 of mine I have never gone over due date, 1st 39+6 and the other 2 40 weeks exact!! I couldn’t of asked for better pregnancies so I suppose this is a surprise. I worry any way through the whole of pregnancy . I have eaten way to much sweet stuff and have pcos so I do worry about gd. Will see what the scan says later

@BurningBenches 11 days to go! Looking forward to meeting her and feeling a lot lighter lol

moosel · 30/07/2021 11:58

I was measuring big with no GD. I was refused a water birth as she had pooped in me when my waters went. I was 8 days over.

She was my second, 11.8lbs and managed a natural pain relief free birth. It was the opposite birth I wanted but they did what was best for her.

It’ll all be fine, congratulations! Not long to go.

BurningBenches · 30/07/2021 12:04

@Tinydancer321 let us know how you get on!

@Chelyanne good luck!

Chelyanne · 30/07/2021 12:14

@BurningBenches thank you Smile

Tinydancer321 · 30/07/2021 12:17

@moosel thank you. Wow you did well!

But worried as I have a slight back wall prolapse from my other births (always tear there).

Thanks guys. She is certainly a long baby. Right now I can feel her in my low pelvis and in my ribs 😂.

@BurningBenches she is going to be big. 90th percentile but that’s ok as in my lines
