Baby Aspirin

Hi everyone. I started taking baby aspirin after experiencing two losses in the last year and have recently found out I'm pregnant again. I just wondered if anyone had also taken baby aspirin in pregnancy following loss and when you stopped taking it? I know some people start taking it later in pregnancy due to pre-eclampsia risk but I specifically wondered about baby aspirin following loss. I will of course discuss with my midwife but wondered what others had done. Thanks

After 4 miscarriages in a row and all fertility tests and scans showing no issues, I decided to start myself on 150mg aspirin a day.

I took it from 1dpo and got a BFP at 8dpo. It felt different right from the start, my test lines were strong and early and progressed well.

I’m now 32 weeks pregnant. It’s the only thing I did differently.

My midwife and consultant both were in support of my being on the aspirin when I told them, and my consultant said that had I not already been on it, she’d have started me on it.

I’m to continue taking it until a week before I deliver (I’m having a c section).

@Jellybean8 I was advised to take it by my GP and my consultant had me stop at 36 weeks as I had delivered my son at 37 weeks previously

So I’ve been taking it due to a previously small baby from around week 6. I have read that aspirin in the first trimester can result in increased miscarriage, so it’s typically advised from week 12 onwards. It’s my understanding it’s until 36 weeks due to potential increased bleeding at delivery.

I take 150mg a day and apparently taking it in the night is most effective x

You don't need to buy "baby aspirin", just buy the standard pills and split them in half. Much cheaper.

After 2 losses I started taking it at bfp. I told doc and midwife. They didn't advise me too but documented it on my notes I was self medicated. Healthy baby delivered at 35 weeks.
