Insomnia help!

Evening all, wondering if anyone can help. I’m 23 weeks and for the past 2/3 weeks I am completely wired when I get into bed and although physically exausted can’t fall asleep. I’ve tried going to bed earlier, going to bed later but whatever I do I’m lying wide awake for hours. Not ideal when I have a 3 and 6 year olds as a 6am alarm clock.
Has anyone found anything that helps with this?

I've had a few issues with this, this time round. There never seems to be anything in particular that works every night, I'd just have to avoid caffeine from about 5pm (I really love tea, this makes me sad).
If you're not asleep within half an hour, just get up and out of bed, there's nothing worse than just counting the hours. I found the constant twisting and turning trying to force myself asleep just makes it worse.
Avoid screen time near bed time, I know it's obvious but really helps. Reading a book really helped me, Kindles and things are just going to keep you awake.
If you can manage it, get some excersie in during the day.

Hope some of this helps.

I know this is from two weeks ago... I'm 24w and the insomnia is rife at the moment. I can deal with any other symptom but insomnia is a real kicker for me. Tried everything I can think of so far. Only seem to be allowed by the universe to sleep 2-3 hours a night 😩 I'm absolutely shattered in the day time but I still try and make the most of it. I try not to nap but that has had 0 impact on how well I'm able to sleep at night.

What's worse is I go to bed earlier than OH and every time he comes in the bedroom to go to bed, I'm awake no matter how quiet he is. I'm losing the will and I'm sick of people saying "just wait until the baby arrives" šŸ™„ - yes, thank you, that's very helpful.

Once I'm awake, a whole plethora of needs flood in which makes it even harder to sleep: need a wee, hungry, restless legs start again, uncomfortable in any position lol.

Sorry, this is more of a whinge than anything else. Are you still suffering or did it disappear for you in the last two weeks? 🄺 šŸ¤žšŸ»
