Pregnant and terrified of catching Covid

Just that really. I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant. I tried to get my first vaccine last week, but was told to come back in the second trimester.

My partner is double vaccinated.

My son ( 1 year old) goes to a childminder and I'm scared I will get it through him.

I don't have asthma or any underlying health conditions, but when I get a cold I struggle for a long time and cough really badly.

I'm scared if I caught covid I would have a really bad outcome.

Anyone else in my position? x

You could always go back to a walk in centre and say you want your vaccine now. There is no link between the vaccine and miscarriage - it should be up to the individual if you want to wait until after 12 weeks. X

Yep agreed. Try again to get your first dose, it is very reassuring knowing you have some protection!

I would suggest that you get vaccinated and don't listen to the personal views of a midwife. The Royal college of Obstetricians has changed their guidance regarding vaccination of pregnant women and recommend it should be done. I work in a hospital so I know this is the guidance. If you would like a better outcome, I suggest you push to get your vaccination and to get double vaccinated as soon as possible.
