Growth scans

Hi everyone.
Just wondered what everyone's experience was of these.
Just had a growth scan due to me being high risk at 28weeks and they are saying she is measuring just under 5th percentile.
My notes say 988g which I'm guessing is the weight they thinks he is now. I have to go back in 2 weeks.
They are happy with fluid and blood supply in cord but is there anything I can eat to support her growth or help get her more weight? Does it even work like that??!!

I feel so guilty, I eat very healthy and I'm active. Im worried that I've not been eating enough/what she needs? Is there anything I can do?

Thanks in advance lou xxx

Sorry I can't help but I'm also wondering this. I'm also high risk and baby is 10th centile. It's my 3rd and final high risk pregnancy and I'd really like to be discharged from consultant led care this time so am willing to try any tips 😅

Every centile on the chart is what is considered normal. It's only if you are outside of the centile range that they worry. 50th centile just means that of 100 babies that baby would be the middle baby and the 5th centile means they would be the 5th littlest. But all of them would be totally normal and healthy. So try not to worry too much.

Hi! I’m in exactly the same position as you, baby just under 5th centile. I asked about my diet and they told me at this stage there’s no correlation. I’m almost 30 weeks now and they confident she’s just a small baby and nothing to worry about x

I’m with you too.. 28 weeks and measuring just beneath 10th centile. Have scan in a weeks time two weeks later.

Mine has been measuring the 4th and 5th centile for a while, I've had several growth scans to make sure she is growing ok.

You will probably just get growth scans every 2 weeks or so, as long as the blood supply and fluid are ok, there shouldn't be anything to worry about.
If during the growth scans she is still measuring along the 5th centile, but is still growing there is no need worry.

You can always ask them to go over the growth scans and explain what the graphs mean. A sonographer did this with me and was very helpful.

Hi all, I just wondered, at my first growth scan last week at 28 weeks, his head, belly, legs are all measuring in different places on the centile chart. Head is 50th, legs are just before the 50th. Belly around 70th. I wondered if your growth scans were similar in that the measurements aren't the same centile for each thing? X

That sounds perfectly proportionate ❤️

OP my first was on 7th centile, like you no cause as to why as dopplers looked good. Same to as you asked if there was anything to be done and told no.

I’ve since done some research and there a quite a lot of women (largely in the us) who swear by the brewers diet at improving fetal weight gain. I also read a study about milk consumption and fetal growth in the third trimester. Sometimes there is nothing that can be done, but might be worthwhile looking at the brewers diet? Xx

@Nc4post99 thank you ❤️

Thank you all so much. I feel so much better. Apologies for not getting back sooner it didn't actually notify anyone had replied and then I've been in every evening this week for cgc monitoring until they could get me a doppler scan. I'm having 2 weekly growth and weekly dopplar but today they are really happy with fluid and oxygen oxygen have been super happy with cgc, always commenting on how wriggly she is. She never stops xxx
