Hello Thos is really personal but I wondered if anyone had been intimate and gone through a massive orgasm that causes potential squirting or waters breaking at 31 weeks? I can't tell the difference it's been years since I've squirted and I remember all them years ago it was like pools of water so I know it's normal to have a lot my dress is absolutely drenched it doesn't smell there's no blood but I'm imbarrased aboit the fact that I now can't tell if this is from squirting/ orgasm or my waters breaking anyone else experienced this???

I’d put a pad in and monitor it… it could also be urine 🙈the joys of pregnancy!

I would give triage a ring to be checked. You don't need to go into finer details, just tell them you had a gush of water after sex. Best to be checked over x

I've ring them and they can't be sure so obviously want to cover there backs and get me checked as it's my first baby and 31 weeks they said I could be waiting hours and hours till early hours of the morning 😩😩 there's no blood no pain it's so difficult to know what to do cus if it was my waters then it's the risk of infection

Definitely get them checked, especially as it sounds like it was a lot!

HarveySpectorWins · 28/07/2021 19:18

You need to go and get checked. If you can't be sure it's best to get checked. Just be prepared to wait hours and make sure you have a snack/drink. It's not worth not getting checked.

BertieBotts · 28/07/2021 19:23

IME when your waters break they keep going and going and going. If it was just a one off squirt of liquid it's probably not amniotic fluid.

Only happened to me once though so I might be wrong!

CarryOn1 · 28/07/2021 19:28

Doesn't seem like something that should go unchecked. If you have to wait at triage, you have to wait. I never waited more than an hour to be checked even when they're busy so might not be as bad as you think. Needs to be done.

And if all is well, happy orgasm! I'm jealous.

Hmm this happened to DH and I with DD1 amd it was indeed my waters breaking (35 weeks). She arrived 8 hours later.
I remember putting a pad in just in case and within the hour more gushed out so I knew what it was then.

The waters keep coming for a fair old while

Not always. Mine didn't. I went to the toilet, had a wee, then felt like I needed another. Luckily I'd already been admitted to hospital and the midwife had asked for a wee sample so she realised my waters had gone. I wouldn't have known. There was nothing after the original gush.
daisyducky · 28/07/2021 19:45

I only had a trickle and went to get checked. It was my waters. But the whole fish didn't happen for another 32 hours. Once your waters break you need monitoring as you risk infection. Get checked. They can do a simple test to check. They take a swab and then it takes 10 minutes to get the result. Good luck

NiceGerbil · 28/07/2021 19:55

Oh! Sorry. I've only had my own babies of course Grin

Also was induced so that may make s difference dunno

Botanica · 28/07/2021 20:13

You need to get checked ASAP. If your waters have gone then there's a limited amount of time your baby can stay inside for, and at 31 weeks they will need to administer steroids most likely to help mature your babies lungs.
Hopefully nothing to worry about but please do get seen.

Noterook · 28/07/2021 20:16

If get checked, in the meantime pop a pad on so if anymore leaks you can show them. Chances are it's not, but so much better to put your mind at ease to have them see.

Thank you everyone it's so difficult because you don't want to waste anyone's time but like you all say it's better to be checked n peace of mind I'm having slight cramping an hour n half layer pad looks dry at the moment but stupidly only put it on about 15 mins ago the midwife said check pad on an hour I'm so anxious as I'm only 31 weeks

Go on in - take snacks/phone charger etc. Better at 31 weeks to be checked. They wont think you're wasting time, honest.

Hm2020 · 28/07/2021 20:55

Definitely get it checked steroids make such a difference if your baby was to come tomorrow! Good luck

Alternista · 28/07/2021 20:55

You need to go and get checked. No-one on here can tell you what it was.
