Pregnant and DC has chickenpox- should I worry

Hello!

So I have had the dreaded call from the nursery- DC has chickenpox. Luckily she has had the vaccine so it only seems to be a few spots and they are tiny.

I had chickenpox as a child. Should I be worried about it affecting my pregnancy (7 weeks)? Anything I should be doing (apart from looking after DC)?

Any advice much appreciated.

If you've had it already then you should be fine.

If you've had chickenpox you'll be fine. I was worried in my last pregnancy for same reason so I paid for chickenpox antibodies test (to see if I had antibodies) and I did so all was fine, as it normally is if you've had it before

Thanks so much for this! I did also call the doctor and she told me not to worry if I'd had it- phew! Panic over! Dc seems absolutely fine too so that's good!

I think if you've had it it's fine. I also think (and could be wrong here) it's more risky at the end of a pregnancy rather than the start.

No need to worry if you've already had them.
Our eldest 2 had it while I was pregnant with our 3rd, my mum couldn't remember if I had it as a child but I was fine.
