Hi all,

Just opening up an August baby thread. I'm sure there's one out there somewhere but I can't find one... plus wanted to start one so I could keep up!

I'm 37+1 today with DS2. Unfortunately, my DS1 was stillborn at 39wks as he was very poorly, so my first birthing experience was very different for us we didn't get to enjoy the end of our pregnancy it was a very tough and upsetting time.

This time around baby is healthy (touch wood) and we have been able to enjoy parts of the pregnancy (but of course have had so much anxiety too due to previous experience) I am due and ELC in 9/8 but I do wonder if little man will come before then 🤔.

Anyway, just wanted to give background. But want this thread to be a support thread for us all in similar positions awaiting our end of July/Aug babies 🥰

How are we all? How do we feel? Anyone else fed up now like me 😂?

Much love 💕 we are nearly there!

Hi all I hope you don't mind me joining. I am 37weeks and 3 days and really counting down. I'm planning on having a vaginal delivery hoping for a water birth but it's my first so I'm trying to be open minded. I've had hyperemesis so still throwing up daily and very much now at the end of my tether with this pregnancy. I love feeling our little one inside me but I don't think I'll miss being pregnant. I'm very excited that it's August tomorrow! Birth month finally here. I wish you all best of luck with the c sections and healthy deliveries for us all.

@lukiebebe haven’t been getting updates on this post for some reason, they’ve only appeared now. I feel like I’m moaning more every day after 9 months of feeling okay 🙈 My legs are just SO heavy feeling. It’s like the blood goes to my feet as the day goes on and just doesn’t come back up. Had to lie with my feet raised to try and help a bit. Only just over a week to go though! From Monday I’m starting to take a picture (or few seconds of a video) every day so I can put them all together on a 7 day countdown and I can show him when he’s older. Will take pictures/videos on the way to hospital etc too. Just wish I’d taken a weekly picture while I was pregnant!

How are you doing today?

Chelyanne · 01/08/2021 01:57

Feeling much like you and struggling with the hips now, baby so low it feels like she could pop out. I was woken by calf cramp this morning and that's been sore all day. A sickness bug has been working it's way through the house, 4th child went down today and was sick in her bunk bed. An absolute nightmare getting up in there to clean it this heavily pregnant and fighting the urge to throw up. Hubby is working away until 4 days before my elcs . Fed up of pregnancy now though I know I'll miss it again soon after, I always do.

lukiebebe · 01/08/2021 03:59

@Daffodil21 snap on the lazy Sunday! I did the same too! DP decided to re organise the shed so I stayed on the sofa delegating to him what needed sorting and what needed chucking! I'm really so tempted to crack on and do things but my hip pain is stopping me 😞

I'm currently awake it's 4am! I have period cramps so I'm sat up trying to figure out what's going on. At the moment I can't figure out if it's coming or going or not. Plus I'm a little watery down there (sorry tmi) but nothing is leaking as such! So wondering if it's just water discharge hmm?

Not a lot planned this week! Got a wax booked (desperate for that lol) and monitoring at the hospital .. other than that nothing as I just need to rest my hip! Ooo my cramps hurt!

😮😮😮😮

Pregnancy can play with your mind though so I bet it's nothing 🤔

@Pinklilly hiya welcome :)

How exciting now long for you either! I'm so so sorry you've had a rough pregnancy being sick! Gosh that must be awful! I've thrown up once in third trimester and it was horrendous I just can't imagine doing that every day. Sending a you a big hug!

Yes I am too so excited but I will NOT MISS pregnancy that's for sure! Bring on 1st August can't believe it's their birth month 🥰

@sarah13xx
I feel you on the leg cramps and heaviness! I no doubt wake up every morning screaming at my DP because my calves cramp and I can't breathe through the pain 😂 every morning I give him a heart attack I'm sure! I'm like helpppppppp my leg my leg my leg! 😂

Love the pic ideas how cute!!! I've taken one every month so I'm due to take my 9 month one but I look rough as! All my other photos are all nice and I've made effort etc but now im like oh gosh I couldn't think of anything worse than trying to dress up and put make up on haha! Might have to be a rough pic (true depiction lol)

I'm currently awake super early as have cramps like mild period cramps! I can't work out if they're coming or going or if I'm imagining it so going to sit here and focus 🤔

@Chelyanne 😖to the hip pain and calves cramping! This is a daily thing it's awful!!! I feel you! I'm currently awake it's 4am and I have back cramps so trying to figure out if they're regular or not! They seem to be coming and going 😮 so need to focus and time them! Eeek!

Sorry to hear about the poorly bug going around that's not what you want bless you!! 😖😖 be careful take it easy! Hope the 4 days of hubs being away goes quickly for you and he's back in no time to help!!

Chelyanne · 01/08/2021 09:38

@lukiebebe hopefully they are just braxton hicks and baby holds out until surgery day.

I'm used to having hubby away, he's military so goes away for stints all the time. It's our normal, he'll be back Friday but has his car if I NEED him home earlier. I was hoping the sick in the bed would be the last but one of the youngest 2 pooed the bed at 6am Sad. Being in hospital will be a nice break lol.

sarah13xx · 01/08/2021 10:07

@lukiebebe haha I feel you! I have to kind of sideways shimmy myself off the bed to put my foot down and try and get rid of it 🙈

I think that’s why I never got round to taking a monthly picture, because I just didn’t bother making the effort to look nice 😂 I have some from randoms weeks I have taken. I think with a c-section it’s good because you can properly do the countdown (as long as it happens when it’s meant to)! I haven’t told that many people mine is a c-section and I keep getting people saying ‘oh don’t count down to your due date, I was weeks later’. I just kind of laugh and shrug it off 😂 I can’t be bothered telling them I’m having one for them to ask why. I tell them because of a huge phobia then I have to sit and listen to their birth story and how I should just do it 🙄 Feel like I can cut out that entire episode by just smiling politely 🤣 they’ll find out soon enough.

Hopefully the pains have died down. I think it’s so hard to tell! Period cramps for me feel similar to when your stomach is sore because of digestion issues 🙈 So I think how am I meant to tell the difference? I was getting quite uncomfortable in the bath last night and thought oh god, here we go! But it did just go away. Will be over the moon if I’m lying in bed next Sunday night with no labour in sight 😊 I mean I’ll be absolutely s**ting myself for the next day but I’ll be over the moon all the same!

lukiebebe · 01/08/2021 23:07

@Chelyanne soo continued having the pain in back throughout today but not consistent. Have had BH this eve but all seems normal!

Oh bless you and your kiddies !! Hope today's been better? I bet a hospital break would be good haha

@lukiebebe it is worrying getting those practice contractions and pressure from baby getting low. Fingers crossed for you all goes well whatever your lo decides to do between now and elcs day.

The kids seem okay today. Got a week of getting all washing and cleaning done so I can relax once baby is here. Take a few days off in this house and there's a mountain of washing to be done lol.

lukiebebe · 07/08/2021 19:52

Hi all!

So sorry for not replying been hectic few days! Baby boy is still put! Contractions came hard and fast on Thursday night into Friday morning. We went into hosp ready to have him but nothing was happening, so I got sent home and then the contractions just stopped lol! Weird!

Had pre assessment today for the c section! It's all feeling soooo real!!!!

@sarah13xx how you feeling about Monday omg so close now!!! This is ACTUALLY happening 😱

@Daffodil21

How are you feeling about Monday? Little one hasn't arrived yet have they as I remember you were very concerned he will arrive sooner?

Have you had you pre assessment done etc?

Hope you're okay xx

@lukiebebe I'm so sorry, I thought I already replied on here!!

Strange about your contractions starting and stopping! Hope he stays put!!

Mine is still in place thankfully!! Just one full day to go so let's hope it continues that way until CS!

I had a phone call from a midwife and the anaesthetist yesterday. I'm booked in for the afternoon and all being well should be in at 2-3ish. Husband allowed with me in recovery and then visiting hours are 8-8 on ward. Got to be at the hosp for 11 and fast from 5am, but I'm lucky in that they allow certain fluids right up until surgery. I had my Covid test yesterday, so hopefully that'll come back clear. If not they will still go ahead with the surgery but my husband won't be allowed in.

How are you doing? Starting to get a little nervous now 😂 x

Daffodil21 · 08/08/2021 20:45

@lukiebebe @sarah13xx all the best for tomorrow!!!!!!! Ahhhhh ❤️ xxx

sarah13xx · 09/08/2021 06:05

@lukiebebe thanks! Good luck today.. let’s try to enjoy it 🥰

Chelyanne · 11/08/2021 11:01

Update.... I was booked for cs on Tuesday afternoon but the little lady had other ideas. I went in to labour early hours on Monday and was already 3cm when I went to hospital in the afternoon. Lots of waiting around and the joy of strong contractions before being sent over to theater for cs. Baby was 10lb 15oz!! Tore me as well as them cutting me so I lost 1.6lts of blood during surgery and more than they expected after too. I've never felt so awful and it was totally different to my last cs where I recovered super quick and was pain free. But baby is thriving and I'm slowly getting better, hopefully will be going home in a day or 2.

I hope you had complication free experiences and are enjoying your newborns.
I am despite the fact she barely let's me sleep lol.

Ava50x · 11/08/2021 11:52

Congratulations @Chelyanne glad you are over! Sorry you had a bit of a rough time with it. Hope you are slowly recovering and getting back to yourself.

I am 38 weeks today and desperate to get this baby out already!

Chelyanne · 11/08/2021 12:12

Thanks @Ava50x I felt the exact same. We're doing okay, just much harder to do the stuff you don't normally give a 2nd though to doing. Once my iron levels get back to normal I should be much better.
Not long to go for you now, good luck with the birth.

Ava50x · 11/08/2021 13:10

thanks @Chelyanne, take care of yourself! xx

lukiebebe · 15/08/2021 07:54

Hey all! How are we ??? Congratulations to you all who have welcomed their bundles of joy into this world this week!

My little Hugo was born on 9/8 at 9:56am weighing 7lbs 8oz of pure deliciousness!

I still am so shocked he's really here!

Sleep deprivation is immense right now and I cry every single night with anxiety. It's all soo soo tough. I hope you're all okay ladies and always here if you're needing a chat.

I would never change this for the world I love my little man but I'm honestly finding it sooo hard but will get there.

Lots of love xxx

Congratulations @Chelyanne and @lukiebebe ! Lovely news!

Elliot was born on Monday afternoon as planned! Can't believe he's here, and has ok, and the section went ahead exactly as planned! Recovery has been good!

How has everyone else's recovery been?

The sleep deprivation is no joke though!

@Chelyanne you were right about the kettle being ok (for me anyway!). Probably/definitely could do the dishwasher too but might give it another day or so before letting DH know 😀 I can bend down fine, I'm just avoiding it for the next few days if I can!
