Hello

Just hoping for some advice, I've been bleeding lightly for a week now, some days brown discharge, other days, bright red and alot of pink discharge

Around 5 mins ago i bled more it was heavy I guess, I felt it come out and I had a few clots, the circular shaped one was probably 1p sized
I did pull it apart and it was stringy so didn't visibly see what could have been a baby but I'm not sure what it should even look like so early on

Could there be a small chance It's not a miscarriage, I think I'm around 6 weeks I'm not sure what I should even do in this situation
I had a really strong positive yesterday, how long shall I leave it before I re test to see if it gets lighter?

Thank you

Hi @lelrx firstly I’m so sorry your going through this! I’ve had 4 miscarriages and they are heartbreaking. You need to call your early pregnancy unit in your local hospital explain you are bleeding and they should book you in for a scan. If they won’t you may need your GP to refer you. Or you could book a private scan. That bleeding does look quite heavy, if you find the bleeding becomes very heavy and your worried or in pain please go straight to a&e. At 6 weeks you may pass a small amount of tissue that’s almost a greyish colour. The clots in the picture look like the lining of your womb though and not the baby. I think if you had a scan they’d be able to tell you exactly what is going on. I’ve got everything crossed for you that it’s not a miscarriage xx

I’m so sorry, it’s such a horrible thing to go through, I have been there many a time. It can take weeks and weeks to get a negative unfortunately. Have you contacted the early pregnancy unit, they will be the best to advise you. They scanned me and then gave me management options. Due to that amount of blood loss, they will probably advise you to wait and then come back in a few weeks to scan and see if it has all passed. So sorry.

I'm so sorry you are going through this op but I had a very early miscarriage when I was younger and it looked exactly like that. It was like a light coloured cotton thread. At six weeks there wouldn't be much else to see. In your shoes I would be preparing for the worst. .

Thank you for the replies ladies!
So I just called epu and they said as I'm not 6 weeks (atleast I'm not thought to be according to my last private scan they won't see me unless I'm filling a few pads

Since that happening I've had no more bleeding so I'm keeping everything crossed
I do have a headache though now, I wouldn't say I had any pain though, I felt a tiny cramping sensation for around 5 minutes after but nothing that I would say is bad at all

I only bled at around 17 weeks with my dd so this has really thrown me 😢 praying everything turns out okay xx

So I had a private scan last night and there was no progression from 10 days ago, just the sac, no yolk or anything inside
Called the gp this morning to figure out what happens next, been told it is a missed miscarriage xx
