Hi ladies!

My first positive pregnancy test was done on Wednesday 16 June - stating "1-2 weeks pregnant".

I know these tests are little bit vague with the dating but using the above information how many weeks would I be please?

(background: I'm trying to calculate my pregnancy in different ways to cross reference and just need a 2nd pair of eyes at this moment!)

Thank you! Smile

I'd say you were roughly coming up to 10 weeks x

stopknockingonmydoor · 26/07/2021 13:48

If clearblue says 1-2 weeks pregnant then I believe that makes you 3-4 weeks pregnant going by your last period...

So that would make you 9-10 weeks pregnant now I think?

Someone more knowledgable will hopefully come along Smile I've never used those tests, just going by what I read on here.

I got a positive clear blue digital pregnancy of 1-2 weeks on 12 June. I am now 10 weeks and 1 day so I would imagine you are around the same!

Thanks for this and congratulations! Have you had your pregnancy dated yet with an ultrasound?

Thanks!

They will date you from your last period, not what a clear blue says as there’s such a range in the hormone levels. Your clear blue puts you about 9-10 weeks but they’ll confirm a date at your dating scan.

My periods are longer than average, so I was 7 weeks pregnant by LMP when I got 2-3 weeks on a clear blue (so 4-5weeks in reality). The hospital had me in for a dating scan based on LMP and said I was too early and only “about 10 weeks”, they wouldn’t date it properly. I went back two weeks later and they dated me at 11+5 (I think). At that point, you stop going off your LMP and go from your dating scan.

Thanks for this! I know the midwifes etc will only go with your first day of your last period, but I'm trying to not use that as an indicator for the purpose of this exercise. I’m trying to figure out if there is any chance my pregnancy is less weeks than I have calculated, using my first day of my last period. (My period normally last anything between 25-29 days.) The 16 June would be approx 9/10 DPO. Thanks.

If you are further behind than those dates, as sometimes it can take longer to implant, then they’ll let you know at your scan. At my first scan I thought I was about 10.5 weeks and actually I’d be just before 10 weeks based on my later scan. Getting 1-2 weeks on a digital at 9/10DPO would suggest that it’s 1 week rather than two weeks, so you’re closer to 9 weeks than 10. The threshold bands for a digital are quite wide and not that accurate.

Thanks for explaining all this! I would have thought that if I know that the 16 June is approx 9/10 DPO, judging by the Clearblue 1-2 weeks they would make me 8 weeks today?

Thanks again!

I'd put you as 8 weeks yesterday, assuming 14 days before ovulation then + 9/10 to clearblue. But they asked if my periods were regular at my scan, I said between 25-28 days and that I'd measured two days ahead based on lmp dates at a private scan I had done and they officially moved my due date forward two days because that's what I was measuring for them too. So I'd say they'll probably do that for you, but I'd go off lmp for booking the scan.

Interestingly, they didn't do that on my first pregnancy, when my cycles were longer (28-35 days) and I was sure from my own tracking I was really 3 days ahead of where I was (and measuring +2). However, they said that I was 'in line with my dates' and some fluctuation was normal so they didn't adjust. I was then induced +11, when I think I was really only +8, so my suspicion is in my hospital at least they are less inclined to make changes to push a potential induction date further away.

Candlecandlesss · 26/07/2021 16:20

Yes I have had a scan and They dated me 2 days less than I thought but baby is so small and scrunched up he said they often add a few days back on at the 12 week scan so should match my dates pretty much exactly. I was 10dpo on the 11th so exactly a week ahead of you and am 10 weeks 2 days.

Thanks for this and for having a go at calculating my dates, I hope you're right! I guess the body is not a machine, so I guess one could be possibly wrong, let's hope so in my case! Thanks again, trying to stay positive Smile

Ok, thanks, interesting to know, 2nd scan is next week, so let's see what happens, I'm trying to stay positive, hoping that I'm wrong with my dates!
