Maternity Clothes

Hiya,

Okay this might sound like a reallllly silly question and I'm a bit embarressed to post it but I'd rather ask than stay silent. So I'm a first time mum and I've just bought some maternity over the bump shorts, I usually wear size 8 but they felt a bit tight so I went for a size 10. They fit nicely, but the maternity band bit at the top is quite tight/snug fit. Is it supposed to be like that? Any harm to baby if it's tight?

I recently put my over the bump jeans in the bags for school recycling thing because the "waist" was too tight when I wasn't pregnant. The bump bit was too tight when I was pregnant and I only had a small bump!

I wish that I could find maternity jeans/shorts with a snug fit, Ive bought 4 pairs from different brands in my usual size 8 and they're all loose and unsupportive! I'm 7 months pregnant and it's not like my bump is small, I hate having to pull them up all the time.

I'm sure they're fine to wear as long as you're not uncomfortable.

They shouldn't be uncomfortable.

I've got over the bump stuff from new look and George @ asda and neither are tight on my rather large bump (36+6wk).

I find the fit can really vary brand to brand. I’ve ordered some things I’ve had to send back because they were too tight on the bump before, e.g. if there was a very strong and thin band of elastic at the top. I don’t think there’s any harm to the baby though, it’s more the discomfort!

I think the H&M stuff is good, I liked the over bump skinny jeans.
