Hi!
I am 5+5 today but I already look 6 months pregnant?!! Ridiculously bloated which I know is normal but...any advice or wisdom??

We don’t want to share the news with anyone until our first scan but at this rate it’ll be obvious 🤦🏽‍♀️

I'm suffering from bloating and being gassy too! I'll hop on so I can hear the good remedies too

SecondCityShark · 26/07/2021 00:21

Me too, tummy has sticking out by a mile and my boobs have grown by two cup sizes too.

I've started basically overdosing on smoothies the last few days and I really feel like that's shifting the bloat. I bought a big selection of lots of different fruit and veg ones so there's some variety.

I’ve found smoothies have helped to get the digestive system moving too! But often can’t stomach it.
I think super starchy foods get me the most bloated so I’m trying to minimise them.

I’ve been sucking my stomach in when meeting people this week so a “bump” doesn’t get noticed!! 🤣

My bump feels impossible to suck in. But having said that, my DH said my tummy looks 'normal' to him.

But I doubt that, I'm really conscious of it. Looks like I've got half a football being smuggled under my dress Confused

Luckily, a lot of my summer dresses are big and floaty so that sort of camoflages it.

High fibre drinks and lots of water

Bumbelinaaa · 26/07/2021 10:03

My bloating stage coincided with lockdown so I didn’t bother hiding it, but I know peppermint tea helped post c section so might be worth a try? I just used the cheap Teabag ones from Sainsbury’s.

Lzgs · 26/07/2021 10:11

Ooh I’ll try peppermint tea thanks! I’ve been battling covid and just finished my isolation period so once I can shake the persistent cough I still have I will get back onto exercising daily...I’ve heard that helps too.

I’m going with lots of fibre and floaty dresses - I can’t even wear my normal pants

choccrumpet · 26/07/2021 12:55

@Lzgs I'm 9+6 and to be honest nothing has helped my bloat. It makes me look like I have a big bump. I've got IBS too so maybe it's all contributing to it. Peppermint tea helps relieve any discomfort but nothing brings it down, at least for me. And it gets worse in the evenings. So I'm trying to wear loose tops and dresses when out as not everyone knows yet 🙈

messybun101 · 26/07/2021 13:46

Peppermint tea ladies!

Jockerty · 26/07/2021 17:18

8 weeks and I look ridiculous. This isn’t my first rodeo though so expected to ‘pop’ sooner. My jeans don’t fasten and people are glancing at my stomach when I’m talking to them

mumsyme2 · 26/07/2021 17:19

I have the same. Are probiotics for pregnancy any good?

choccrumpet · 26/07/2021 18:02

@mumsyme2 I've been taking standard Holland and Barrett's ones pre pregnancy and have continued them now. Pretty sure they're safe during pregnancy

Lzgs · 26/07/2021 19:32

@choccrumpet I think by the time I am 9 weeks it won’t be possible to hide either!! 6 weeks tomorrow and look 6 months ha ha

@Jockerty I am trying to avoid those glances by wearing super baggy oversized dresses but I feel self conscious about that too...I think I look like I’m hiding something 🤣🤦🏽‍♀️

I was wearing a floaty dress but the wind blew at an unfortunate angle and exposed the podge!!

mumsyme2 · 27/07/2021 03:20

Peppermint Bon bons from Myrtle and Maude helped me with the heartburn and pain of the bloating. They’re meant for morning sickness but they work and taste good!!

My youngest said to me yesterday ‘you look like you might have a baby!’ I said, no darling, mummy is just having a fat day

Lzgs · 29/07/2021 09:58

I told my parents because I don’t think I can hide it any longer 🤣

The bloat is sooo hard to deal with!!! Literally looking super pregnant! But I read small regular meals are supposed to help... but i don't think it's possible with my job

Scorpio8 · 02/07/2022 20:21

I am bloating so bad and been like this for weeks thought bad constipation.
Until lower back pain and tested positive.
It's alright to have peppermint tea just not too much.

trrk · 03/07/2022 08:14

I found taking fybrogel helped the most as adding more natural fibre to my diet didn’t do much. Luckily I was WFH due to Covid and just wore stretchy leggings the whole time.
