When will I feel better :(

I know its different for everyone but can anyone offer me a glimmer of hope of when I might feel better? I'm 13 +2 and still feel rough everyday. I have morning sickness all day every day and have lost about 10kg since I found out I was pregnant (this has been monitored). I love my baby but just want to feel somewhat normal again Sad

Any words of wisdom for a worried and sick FTM would be greatly appreciated!

Mine stopped about that point. I remember having the 12 week scan and thinking why don’t I feel better yet 🙈 but it did stop the following week! Now due very soon and honestly I’d take being heavily pregnant over feeling sick again. The whole rest of my pregnancy has been completely fine and uneventful, it was the sickness bit that was by far the worst

Amijustagrump · 25/07/2021 20:51

@sarah13xx thank you! I cant wait to feel better, everyone said it would stop around now and I just feel like its not changing. Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy Flowers

For me it was around 14-15 weeks both times - I really hope it eases for you soon, it's absolutely miserable.

Sippinongingernjuice · 25/07/2021 21:05

The heat won’t be helping! Hopefully when it cools down you’ll feel a bit better… eating ice lollies really helped my sickness. The fruitier the better!

Hope you feel better - I have never felt more ill then when I was pregnant. Sending lots of non sicky, positive vibes your way x

Cookofcastamar · 25/07/2021 21:07

I just had my third baby in May and while I wasn't sick I had constant nausea until she was born. I found cold water helped and fruity ice lollies.
My other two pregnancies I had no nausea or morning sickness or anything just bump and then baby. Best of luck.

Amijustagrump · 25/07/2021 21:09

@Sippinongingernjuice @PrincessesRUs thank you both Flowers I might try ice lollies tomorrow- can't make me feel any worse, I just hope I'm nearing the end now x

Someone told me I’d feel better by week 14 and I did, to the day.

My mum had a saying: 3 months weary, 3 months cheery, 3 months dreary.

Nat4392 · 26/07/2021 03:46

Mine started to ease around 16-17 weeks. I also thought it would have gone by 12 weeks! Don’t be afraid to ask for anti sickness medication if you need it. I can also second ice lollies. I craved things that were fresh - fruit, freezing cold drinks, salad, they were what I lived on initially.

Amijustagrump · 26/07/2021 10:01

Thank you all! It sounds like I should be hopeful for the next few weeks which is great, I was feeling slightly cheated by the you'll feel better at 12 weeks I kept hearing Grin at least it should be soon!

I’m somewhere between 13-14 weeks and still suffering with really bad sickness as well so my heart goes out to you!

Ice cold water & ice lollies have been a godsend during the warm weather! Also salt and vinegar crisps, I can stomach them somehow 😂 this is also a weird one but sour sweets as well. They really help take the edge off when I’m feeling nauseous but not being sick. I hope it starts to ease up for you soon ❤️

Amijustagrump · 26/07/2021 15:34

@danielleb97 thank you- you too Flowers

Should hopefully be soon but there’s no guarantee I’m afraid!!
I felt fairly crap for most of both my pregnancies.
I think you just adjust and get used to it. You find ways of coping.
You know there is an end point - just might not be for a few months! Wink

Have you tried sea sickness bands you can buy in Boots Good luck with your pregnancy .Talk to your midwife about your concerns

1992EM · 31/07/2021 06:33

I am 27 weeks now and I felt the same and was hoping by 12 weeks I would feel better. I stopped being sick and generally had more energy around 16 weeks and have been fine since. Hopefully you feel better soon too x

1992EM · 31/07/2021 06:35

Also things I found helped were ice lollies/poles, mints and sea sickness bands. x

MrsSugar · 31/07/2021 06:43

I really really feel for you. It’s dreadful, I am now 24 weeks and only feel a little bit better this past week or 2. I remember getting to 12 weeks n thinking why do I feel so bad and people would say oh once you get to 15 weeks, 20 weeks etc and I’d think why lie to me !! I think some ppls bodies just react differently. I honestly thought I would never feel any better as I vomited all day every day x

kikisparks · 31/07/2021 09:03

It was 17 or 18 weeks for me, I was still throwing up at 16 weeks. Hope it doesn’t last too much longer for you.

romdowa · 31/07/2021 09:07

I was around 16/17 weeks before I stopped throwing up / empty retching daily. My stomach still turns on occasion but not as frequent as it did

Flutterby8 · 31/07/2021 11:08

I could have written this exact post myself.
I started feeling unwell before I even took a pregnancy test. Extreme fatigue, nausea and bleeding gums were the first symptoms.
Then came the constant vomiting, inability to eat, weight loss and general feeling of regret.
Midwife wasnt bothered but GP started me on medication for the sickness at about week 10. It took quite a while to kick in but by week 15 or so, i wasnt vomiting as much. Still had nausea constantly but not vomiting at every waking hour.
Im now 21 weeks and while I dont really have the vomiting aspect, I still have days where I have no appetite what so ever and struggle to eat anything except sweet snacks.

Everyone told me Id feel heaps better when the 2nd trimester started and I didnt. I got really fed up because I was suffering so much with HG that I began to hate the fact I was pregnant.
It does get better. But it is different for everyone. Hang in there, i hope things improve soon.

Have you had anti sickness meds

Speaking as someone who was hospitalised for 5 months due to sickness in pregnancy, these can be essential

Amijustagrump · 31/07/2021 17:06

Thank you all! I'm on anti sickness meds however am quite unhappy to take them which doesn't really help. I had a day this week where I felt normal and it was great but now I'm back to the sickness and naseau..
Thanks for all the tips too and I hope anyone else suffering gets to end soon too Flowers

Anti sickness meds won't help if you aren't taking them daily.

Can I ask why you're reluctant to take them?
