Hi mamas, 41 weeks today.
Was suppose to go in for induction coming Tuesday. Aiming for Vbac as first baby was breach c section.

I woke up this morning with cramps, and they’re getting worse. Gone from mild period like cramps around 9.30am to un-ignorable intense cramps. They last about 10-20 seconds and are about 10-15 min apart. I’m feeling the cramps at the back first and it radiates to the front. I’m experiencing pelvic pain on the sides, intense lower back pain and ( sorry TMI) rectal pressure/pain. I’ve also had diorrhea throughout the day, and nausea that’s always present but worse during cramps.

No bloody show, no water breaking. Just intense cramps. My midwife tried to do a sweep on Friday. She said only 1.5-2cm dilated but cervix was still quite high up and not much effaced.

Does this sound like bad braxton hicks or the real deal?

Hi everyone, yes it was indeed the early stages of labour. My water finally broke on Monday afternoon, I went to maternity unit, but was told baby had done a lot of bowel movements, hence my waters were green.

I think this panicked everyone and they wanted me to get a c section ASAP. But my cervix was dilating and labour progressing so the dr gave me the chance to try going for the Vbac. Unfortunately labour stopped at 8cm - so frustrating. I ended up having a c section. The dr later said babies head in a very awkward position with her arms up - which is probably why more contractions weren’t translating to dilation and her dropping down.

I had set my heart on a Vbac, but I guess better safe then sorry.

I was a little disappointed in my care. By the time my water broke I was having 4 contractions per 10min, and they were intense, yet it took 2h later for me to be given gas - because apparently I can’t be given any form pain control unless I’m 4cm dilated otherwise it ‘won’t work’ later. I was literally crying and begging for something and the senior midwife was like no. Horrible woman.

Congratulations!! Sorry it didn’t go how you planned. I find it strange that they didn’t let you have gas and air. I was stuck at 2cm for hours and hours having contractions every 1minute, they couldn’t of not given me anything I was in so much pain.

Wishing you a speedy recovery and all the best with your new little bundle of joy Flowers

Lovely to hear your little one arrived safely (if not quite how you had planned!)
Many congratulations Thanks

My waters didn't break until she was actually coming out, my waters went followed by a head !
Good luck x
