36 weeks lost plug and pressure

First baby here so just a few questions for those who have experienced labour Smile

I am 36 weeks today, think I lost some of my mucus plug this morning (blob of discharge in my knickers different/thicker than usual) and since I have just had so much pressure down there! No contractions or actual pain but a lot of discomfort, it just feels like there's a lot going on! It's also fairly swollen down there 🙈

Is this likely to be a sign of baby coming soon? My midwife has made comments about me preparing for baby to arrive earlier than due date due to baby's head being down and my bump being so low.

I can't believe the pressure, I had planned to go shopping for last minute bits today and don't feel like I dare!

This happened me about 36 weeks with my first. I was in some sort of weird slow labour for about 8 days with constant contractions that didn’t progress but were extremely uncomfortable. I was in and out of hospital every day for monitoring. For various reasons, I ended up having a section at 37 weeks. So in my experience, it did mean baby was coming soon (but not too soon)! Good luck 😊

Another week would be nice lol! Hopefully this is the start. The only position I'm comfortable in is laying on my right side, anything else is just painful!

Nothing yesterday, lost a little bit more of my plug this morning though! Think it's going to be a slow process can't see anything happening soon. See my midwife tomorrow so will see what she says Smile
