Pregnancy tests and periods - HELP

Hi, this is my first post so sorry if this is posted in the wrong place!
So 3 days ago (4 days before period was due), I woke up feeling super sick and just generally ‘off’ so I took a test. I also have a toddler so recognised the feeling.
The test was negative, so I left it on the counter and a couple of hours later went back to bin it and a very, very faint line had appeared. Mainly colourless but had a bit of blue to it around the edges. Put it down to an evap line and decided I’d take another the next day.
Following day took another pink dye test (first one was blue dye) and a digital - both negative. My sister recommended a clear blue early detection, so I tried one of those and at around 11 minutes a thin faint line appeared - mostly blue but colourless at the top.

I’m in a fairly new relationship and he’s not met my son yet and won’t be for a while. I’m not on contraception but we do use condoms each time and haven’t noticed anything going wrong.

So last night and this morning I was absolutely freaking out, but this afternoon I’ve come on! Totally normal looking period, quite heavy if anything (sorry if TMI).
I’m going to call the doctors on Monday, but just wondered if anyone could advise if they’ve been through similar? I don’t know what to think, please help.

Thank you xx

I think if you’ve come in your period it’s very unlikely you would be pregnant.

Miliao · 24/07/2021 20:46

Why do you think you need to call the doctor? It doesn’t sound like there is anything wrong with you, you’ve had negative pregnancy tests and now you’re on your period, I’m not sure what the doctor can do?

Shortbread19 · 24/07/2021 20:47

@Miliao totally agree and feel very relieved as so not the right time to be welcoming a new baby! I just wasn’t sure if I had 2 cases of evap lines or possible chemical pregnancy x

More just for peace of mind really

I had a line last week on a cb early detection and AF came a few days later. There seems to be a few threads lately of lines on cb and no pregnancy.
I'd say you're not pregnant.

Shortbread19 · 24/07/2021 20:54

@fairgame84 that’s reassuring, thank you

Well I don’t think a doctor will be able to tell you anything. I’d put it down to a case of evap lines which are pretty common, especially as the pink dye was negative. If I were you I’d chalk it down to a lucky escape, but I wouldn’t waste the doctor’s time, especially as they’re so busy at the moment.

Shortbread19 · 24/07/2021 21:06

@Miliao yeah, I mean I’m calling them first and foremost to sort out some alternative contraception to avoid this happening again and was planning on mentioning it.
I don’t think people seeking reassurance about health-related issues constitutes as a waste of time but I do appreciate the feedback Smile

Apologies, you didn’t mention you were seeking alternative forms of contraception - that is definitely worth a call. I just thought you were going to tell them you’d had negative pregnancy tests and your period, which would be a head scratcher for the doctor!!Grin

Oh no, think they would have laughed me outta there 😂. Thanks for your help
