Hi all, this will be my first baby so everything very new and things like this worrying.

Just looking for advice from anybody experiencing the same or has in the past.

It's really starting to worry me now. It's not a huge amount and is just when I wipe and the doctor on Thursday on the phone just asked me to phone if it didn't stop. Being out of hours I have rang 111 today and just waiting for a call back from a clinician, but that was now 4 hours ago.

It's not got any heavier and is not all the time. Nothing in a pad/underwear. Just a small amount when I wipe after using the toilet.

Thanks in advance.

Hi OP. How worrying for you.. is it bright red blood?

Shad0w · 24/07/2021 16:01

Hi thank you for your quick response. It's difficult to say, it's definitely red sometimes, sometimes lighter, more pink.

It started on Thursday but then nothing yesterday and then doing the same again today when I wipe after a wee (although has stopped again now)

Early pregnancy is a such a tough time honestly. So I have had light bleeding (really just pink discharge) in early pregnancy and it all turned out OK, but my best friend had the same and sadly miscarried. Unfortunately it could go either way. I feel for you, the waiting is so hard but only time will tell.

There are lots of things it could be and it could well be fine.

Ok thank you 😞

Hi @Shad0w, so sorry to hear it. From what I understand bleeding can be very normal in early pregnancy but it's so hard to know. I'm in the same situation and finding the anxiety hard to manage so I really feel for you. How many weeks are you? X

Shad0w · 24/07/2021 16:18

Hi @CurlewCalls sorry to hear you are going through the same, it's so worrying isn't it.

I am 6w 1d. You?

It is... though I've been looking at posts in here and it does seem quitr normal (one post said a clinician said 2/3rds spot during pregnancy) and if yours has been for 3 days, I wouldn't necessarily imagine its a worry? But great you've phoned 111 and hopefully they'll help xx I'm 3w 3 days and only just got my bfp, but I've been bleeding for 11 days now so... not getting my hopes up... Thinking of you and fingers crossed xxx

Shad0w · 24/07/2021 16:33

So sorry to hear that and really hoping everything with your pregnancy is also ok. Have you been to see doctor/midwife yet or spoken to anybody?

I'm 9w5d and have been spotting on and off since 5w2d. My OB doesn't seem overly concerned about it. Already had 2 scans and baby is growing fine. Saw the heartbeat and everything! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Shad0w · 24/07/2021 17:09

Had a call back now from the clinician and she feels no reason for concern from what I have explained to her on the phone, I got such a lovely nurse who was really reassuring. She said 1 in 4 experience some light bleeding or spotting in the early weeks and more often than not it's completely normal, changes to your body and hormones

@Und3rl1ng that is really reassuring. Thank you

That's great to hear that the clinician was reassuring @Shad0w -are you feeling a bit better about it? and thanks for sharing your experience too @Und3rl1ng must be amazing to hear the heart beat! It's my first pregnancy too and can't even imagine how amazing that must be 💗 I spoke to the midwife yesterday who suggested an early scan, which I was booked onto b4 my bfp so I guess I might just wait until then. Cos I was bleeding unusually b4 my bfp, I've always been v cautious about getting excited, but it's hard and today it all hit me a bit... my gp was congratulatory and didn't seem overly worried, the bleeding is v light and only when i wipe but its definitely there and doesn't seem to be stopping xx

Shad0w · 24/07/2021 18:59

@CurlewCalls feeling much better than I was thank you for asking. I hope all is good for you also. I am only noticing the blood also when I wipe but sometimes it looks more than other times. I have started to take photos of the tissue (sorry if TMI) so that I'm able to show if I am asked... it's not so easy to explain because sometimes it's a couple of spots and sometimes looks more
