Question about EVC

Hey all,
My little on is currently breech and I think I’ve decided to go for an EVC next Friday. My only worry is the side effects of the drug they give you to relax the womb. I’m very anxious and my heart rate rises when in the hospital anyway.

Did anyone who has had a EVC notice their heart rate and for how long did it last?

Xx

I was worried about this too as I have a bit of anxiety anyway and panic when my heart rate goes up. It was fine tbh as I prepared myself for it.

I’d done Hypnobirthing for a previous pregnancy and just used the breathing from that to calm myself down (could see my heart rate going lower on the monitor as I was doing it!). But just take some big beep breaths and tell the MW/Doctor if you are feeling worried. I found everyone extremely supportive.

The side effects of the medication were not as bad as I expected at all. Good luck x

I had an ECV and don't remember a difference with my heart rate. I'm quite an anxious person and rememeber reading that the injection wasnt very pleasant but I genuinely don't remember it making a big difference/being too bad
