Just curious really if you don't sharing, how much weight had you gained by 24-ish weeks?

I'm +18lbs but feel like it's going to other places besides my bump which is quite small... I don't feel like i'm eating anymore than I was pre-pregnancy at a size 10/12.

I'm 22 weeks and havent gained yet but I started as a very fat size 22!

jessicakxx · 24/07/2021 07:49

Hey, I was a 9 stone 3 before getting pregnant, by 12 weeks I'd gained around 7 pound and by 2 weeks I'd gained a stone in total. I'm now 28 weeks and I'm 10 stone 8.

I've been eating the same if not less calories than pre pregnancy (obviously no alcohol lol) and don't feel I've 'gained' weight on face or legs etc but I am clearly putting on weight. Although a lot of it is water and extra blood etc I'm told.

Xx

I meant to say and by 21 weeks *

OpenTheBloodyWindow · 24/07/2021 07:54

I've put on about 2 stone by 28 weeks, from 9 stone to approx 11 stone. I don't think I look massive but I'm obviously putting weight on somewhere...

This is my 3rd and with both I put on about 3 stone by the end. It does all come off -a stone comes off by itself in the week or two after birth as it's baby + fluids.

OpenTheBloodyWindow · 24/07/2021 08:08

Just checked and it's more like 2.5 stone by 28 weeks Shock maybe I'll eat a few more salads...

Knock123 · 24/07/2021 08:14

I'm 25 weeks and have gained 1st 3.5lb. I am still able to put my size 10 jeans on but obviously can't button them up any more! I am tall so it's easier to hide weight gain but I feel mine is all on my boobs and belly and a only a bit on my bum and thighs.

I have been really worried about weight gain, midwife said as I was a normal weight pre pregnancy to aim for 2st to 2.5st in total. I keep telling myself I have to gain to grow my baby but it's very difficult if you're used to managing your weight to find it spiraling out of control. I've been using this website to track the weeks which has been really reassuring

I'm 38 weeks and have put on 18lbs. It really depends how much you weighed before pregnancy. My bmi was 'healthy' borderline (24.5ish)

OverTheWater · 24/07/2021 08:19

23 weeks, 1 stone 10lb Blush

I'm normally pretty slim and I conceived just after a very successful January diet (bmi 19) so telling myself some is normal diet bounce back . . .

Thank you knock123 for the link, I will be using it!

OverTheWater · 24/07/2021 08:22

Oh wait the calculator just told me off. Maybe I don't!

I have found the nhs spectacularly uninterested in my weight, I suspect precise plotting is more of a US thing- for good or ill!

I'm 28 weeks, started about the same weight and have put on a stone more than you. I'm clearly putting on quite a lot, but not really sure how to put on less?

I'm not going particularly crazy with portions or anything, just a normal amount with maybe a morning snack and afternoon snack. If I ate less I'd be starving and feel sick/faint and totally miserable.

Feeling like a total pig now! Cake

OverTheWater · 24/07/2021 08:40

Openthebloodywindow that was my starting weight too and I was 10st8 at 18 weeks! I am just hungry all the time although eating fairly sensibly.

In my first pregnancy I put on precisely 2 stone exactly as recommended by the calculators with no conscious effort so I do think it's true that every pregnancy is different.

DeadSouth · 24/07/2021 08:43

I started my pregnancy 8 stone 2 and ended up 11stone 4 when DD was born at 38 weeks last week. I’m already down to 9 stone 7 but the pregnancy weight gain was insane.

shivawn · 24/07/2021 10:58

I started off around 61-62kg and now at 29 weeks I'm 69-70kg so around 17-18lbs. I honestly don't care what I weigh but I don't think I've gotten bigger anywhere other than bump and boobs.

Remember a lot of those extra pounds are from the baby, placenta, bigger breasts, increased uterus tissue, amniotic fluid, increased blood volume, increased fluid volume etc.

Almondcroissant25 · 24/07/2021 11:05

I’m 16 weeks and have put on 7 lbs taking me to 9st 13lbs - cannot stop eating so I am certain I will balloon

Loki01 · 24/07/2021 11:07

30 weeks and nothing yet. But I am a size 20 so I dont really need to:)

Chelyanne · 24/07/2021 11:25

I'd gained 2.5st by 16wk with carb loading and being less active in the new year lockdown. Didn't gain any more until the past week or so, 3/4lb but pretty sure it's just fluid retention as I've had leg/foot swelling. I'm 36+4 now, baby is above the 97th centile on growth so been thriving on my fat stores.

glow92 · 24/07/2021 19:54

Thanks for all your responses!

I was 10st 5 when I found out I was pregnant (I'm 5ft 6, so kinda average healthy weight) and now 11st 9 at nearly 25 weeks.

Im honestly not too worried about it just having a phase of feeling like a potato in anything having more skin on show since it's been warm! Also have a wedding next month and can't for the life of me find a dress that I like... brand recommendations welcome!
