Surrey Maternity Hospitals: St Peters, Frimley or Royal Surrey + NHS or Private?

Help! I'm 7 weeks pregnant, 41yrs old, having my 1st baby and no idea which hospital I should use for having our baby! Also my parents and husband would be keen to consider private, which I think only Royal Surrey does. But I'm perfectly happy going NHS. But need to have good reason for them to go this way!! Any advice on the hospitals and/or NHS or private greatly appreciated. Thank you! X

I had both my children at Frimley Park. Depending on how far you live its a fantastic hospital and the maternity unit is amazing

Hi, I had my son at frimley in January - probably the worst time at the height of the pandemic -

Scans at the antenatal department pretty much ran on time which I found amazing.

I was induced so spent a fair bit of time on the wards - antenatal and post natal were combined due to covid and it was busy! But despite that I think the staff were still really good and attentive. I didn't need breastfeeding support but I could hear the nurses spending a lot of time with people who did.

But most importantly - I was impressed by the labour ward. My midwife was concerned about my labour and we got so much attention from the head midwife and consultant. During my monitoring phases they were often in the room and once they decided to proceed to c-section - the level of care and speed was great. A friend gave birth in the pool the week before and lucky thing got a private room!

Had my little girl May 2020 at frimley they are amazing. Expecting again (8 weeks pregnant) and chosen frimley again without hesitation. Had a c section the first time and the staff were all amazing
