After Finding out im pregnant again I can’t stop worrying about every little twinge and niggle I feel, I’m currently over 5 weeks and yesterday I start having an aching pain near my shoulder around that area, I can’t help but feel like I’m going to lose this baby again or this could be an ectopic pregnancy, if you had an ectopic what was your main symptoms, I haven’t bled or had cramping only thing is I’ve a minor aching pain around my shoulder when I move my arm a certain way, it doesn’t hurt when my arms are just rested only when I move a certain way, would love to hear anyone’s experience with this and if all went well, my anxiety is through the roof with this pregnancy and can’t help but feel like I’ll lose a baby again ☹️

I didn’t have shoulder pain, even on rupture.

I’ve heard it’s a symptom of post-rupture and don’t think it’d just be a niggle, with no other symptoms.

Mine were fainting, vomiting and nausea. I nearly died. If you experience any of that I’d 999 pronto.

JackJack84 · 23/07/2021 19:47

As @LividLaVidaLoca I didn't have shoulder pain either after rupture.

My main symptom was rust coloured bleeding & mild cramping on the left side. The pain only got excruciating once it had ruptured.

Peachee · 23/07/2021 19:49

I didn’t have shoulder pain at all either xx

Cazzovuoi · 23/07/2021 19:52

I only had shoulder pain after it ruptured because I was bleeding heavily into my abdomen. It was right at the tip of my shoulder. It was a sharp pain but nothing like the pain in my abdomen. Not a niggle, a seeing stars pain.

Ruby2328 · 23/07/2021 20:32

@LividLaVidaLoca yeah I haven’t experienced any other symptoms thank god just it feels like I have a pain in my shoulder that’s making my arm feel dead, I really need to stop googling my symptoms, I’ve just been so anxious this time round ☹️

@JackJack84 I didn’t realise shoulder pain wasn’t as common, I think google can freak you out sometimes 😣 waiting for 8 weeks roughly to get my first scan, praying all goes well 🤞

Ruby2328 · 23/07/2021 20:35

@Peachee what we’re you symptoms if you don’t mind me asking? I’m kind of scared because my last miscarriage they suspected it was ectopic/PUL because nothing could be seen in the uterus on the vaginal ultrasound but then I just miscarried naturally, I’m so scared this time around I google every feeling I get, I think it’s because I’m so alert now because of what happened last time xx

@Cazzovuoi how far along we’re you gone when you got the shoulder pain? Really trying not to worry myself so much but the wait for the scan is just agonising, I’m over thinking so much 😣

I didn’t have shoulder pain, my main symptom was an immense pressure in my bum that gradually got worse and I ended up fainting.

You can have a scan at around 6 weeks to check the pregnancy is in the right place this time, they won’t see much but at least you can be confident it isn’t the ectopic/PUL.

It’s so hard being pregnant after a loss Flowers so please be kind to yourself. It’s very difficult and normal to feel anxious. I had an ectopic in my first pregnancy and my second pregnancy was my DD. Try and stay positive x

Cazzovuoi · 23/07/2021 22:10

I was 6+2 when it ruptured but I had no shoulder pain before that. I had a niggling pain where my ovary is but it wasn’t bad.

Stade197 · 24/07/2021 01:12

I didnt get shoulder pain with my ectopic i just had really bad lower back pain. When i told my GP about the pain they sent me for an early scan at 5/6 weeks which showed it was ectopic

Peachee · 24/07/2021 16:23

Aww that’s ok. It’s natural to feel worried let alone if you’ve had other things happen before. Tbh I didn’t really have major symptoms.. looking back my period was bitty and on and off for about a month and then I started getting shooting pains from my vagina upwards into my uterus I’m not sure.. a bit like shooty vag which you get in pregnancy anyway. A bit like lightening feelings going up from down below. Tbh I think I could have worried and imagined all of these things with this pregnancy though as I had a bit of bleeding and shooty vag and I’m now 29 weeks.
Praying that these next couple of weeks can go quick for you so you can have some peace of mind. Are you going to get a reassurance scan?
My main symptom of ectopic was bleeding (not massively just spotting consistently for a month when my periods are normally regular as clock work and also shooting pain from my vagina upwards inside.
I wasn’t trying for a baby at the time so it all came as a complete shock xxx

Ruby2328 · 25/07/2021 22:07

@Rossypossy thank you for sharing your experience, and I am so sorry for your first loss :( very hard to lose your first baby, my first miscarriage was my first baby 😣 thank you so much I’m pleased to say the shoulder pain has left so praying once we go for the 8 week scan all will be well xx

@Peachee so pleased to here your pregnancy is going well this time round! ❤️ I’m going to go to my gp Friday, hopefully he’ll be able to help me find out what week I am as I got pregnant right after my miscarriage without a period, and then once we figure out the dates I’m going to go for an 8 week ultrasound! Xx

MyHairNeedsASnip · 25/07/2021 22:20

I didn't get the shoulder pain, I got dark brown spotting when I wiped and the dates just didn't add up.

I do get shoulder pain when I'm due on for whatever reason 🤷🏻‍♀️ and that's in my right shoulder and no pain killer shifts it until my period starts, it's pretty constant and hurts like a bugger.

Flowers for you, it's a worrying time being pregnant after a loss and I hope you're ok.

Ruby2328 · 25/07/2021 22:22

@MyHairNeedsASnip yeah I had the exact same thing when I miscarried brown spotting at the start 😣 hope you’re okay ❤️ Thanks so much trying to stay calm but it’s hard xx

That's really sweet of you, it's a long time ago for me and it feels like a lifetime ago, but I remember that anxious feeling and it's all consuming and robs your innocence and joy away I suppose. I'll be keeping everything crossed for you.

Stade197 · 28/07/2021 13:04
@Stade197 very sorry you had to go through that, hope you are feeling better now ❤️
Thanks, im feeling good now, my ectopic was in 2018, currently pregnant again and did get some worrying twinges at the start so I was convinced it would go wrong again but im now 34+6 and everything has gone well, I really hope everything goes well for you ❤

SillyBry · 28/07/2021 19:46

No shoulder pain here either and by the time they found it, it had ruptured and I had a stomach cavity full of blood.
My main symptoms were bleeding, extremely bloated, feeling like I needed to poo/rectal pressure and then towards the end, one sided pain and feeling like my organs were squashed in together.

Dedey · 11/01/2022 19:50

Just had a natur miscarriage at 8 +4 wk
I had left side pain on Friday 7/1/22 NO discharge at all... on Sunday 9/1/22 brown discharge started early morning than later red blood and I've had a miscarriage around 11 am in the hospital toilet 😭...
Still with left side pain, back pain and shoulder tip pain started today morning (11/1/22)

Cakecakecheese · 11/01/2022 21:01

I was worried about shoulder pain too (turned out to be nothing) but someone I know who had experienced the shoulder pain with an ectopic said it was like your arm being ripped out of its socket. Apparently it is like no pain you'd ever had so you would know. But like others have said not everyone will get that pain.

Lilladyjen · 24/01/2023 02:47

I have really bad lower back pain really early into this pregnancy is that the only symptom you had? I'm not bleeding
