How are these HCG levels looking?

11DPO - 54.2
13DPO - 134.5
17DPO - 994.4

I know it's more than doubling which is good. But are they high or low? Or does it not matter? The doctor said he didn't expect it to be more than 6-700 on the last one so it seemed like it was high? I don't know if that's good or bad! I'm pregnant after 2 miscarriages in a row and everything is making me worry and I don't understand HCG levels at all. Any words of wisdom are appreciated 🙏

@Dutchessofcake hi congratulations I too had two miscarriages this year both very early in may & June. I'm praying this is 3rd time lucky for the both of us. My previous hcg never got passed 36 this time round had bloods taken last Sunday they was 188 then again on Tuesday they was 650 so they more than doubled. I'm having another blood test today & have a scan booked for Monday just to see everything is in the right place. How many weeks are you ? Could be twins

@Shakira1111 Thank you! I'm so sorry for your losses too but congratulations, its so relieving to see those numbers go up.

I'm 5w1d today I think, at 17DPO I would have been around 4w6d. I've not had a period between losses so I can't be certain, but I'm counting from my last miscarriage so I can't be any more than that. But could be a little earlier I suppose! I have a scan in a couple of weeks 🤞

Hi OP, not an expert but have had mine drawn enough times by now! 17dpo on average HCG levels are between 17-429. Are you absolutely certain of your ovulation dates or might you be a day or two ahead? Are you having any further draws? Your current numbers are on the high side but I’ve always been told that it’s not the number it’s the doubling that’s the most important. At 17dpo for me this time I was at 371, they quadrupled in 48 hours and they stopped my draws at that point and I started having scans instead. Best of luck Flowers x

Dutchessofcake · 23/07/2021 09:14

@babymuffinxo I tracked ovulation with tests and BBT so I'm as certain as I can be that I ovulated on the 4th of July. My last miscarriage was the 17th of June so I can't physically be any more than 5w1d today, it might even be earlier because I have no idea if I'm supposed to count from that day! I paid privately for blood tests as they wouldn't do them on the NHS, I wasn't planning on getting another but do you think I should? Is too high a bad thing? I know absolutely nothing about HCG levels other than that they're supposed to double lol. Thank you so much for the info! ❤

The standard range at 5w is anything from 18 to 7,340 mIU/mL, as I understand it so I wouldn't worry. Enjoy your pregnancy x

Dutchessofcake · 23/07/2021 09:24

@Confused521 Ah that's great to know, thank you! 😊

@Dutchessofcake I don't know if this is true, but I'm pregnant after a miscarriage and someone said that a subsequent pregnancy after a loss can have high hcg levels as it's your body's way of trying to make the next pregnancy successful. Mine this time round were 1470 at 19 dpo and and almost 4000 at 21 dpo - which I was told was the high side of normal. It's just one in there from the private scans I've had done. I bbt also so was sure of my dates.

Dutchessofcake · 23/07/2021 09:38

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 That's really interesting, thank you! I keep getting myself into a panic over nothing lol. Congratulations on your pregnancy ❤

@Dutchessofcake congrats on your pregnancy!
I wouldn't personally pay for another blood test, just because I chose to get private scans instead after my bloods for better reassurance. I know some people find early scans contentious, in case it causes worry, but I wanted to know how things were looking - measuring right, heartbeat etc.
You know your bloods are multiplying well so I'm not sure what more bloods would show at this point.

babymuffinxo · 23/07/2021 09:46

Ah really! That’s a shame that the NHS wouldn’t do them. They’ve been pretty good with me but I had an ectopic in December so I assume they were worried it would happen again.
No I don’t think there’s anything to worry about, sounds like you’re off to a good start! Wishing you all the luck with this little one xx

Dutchessofcake · 23/07/2021 09:53

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I'm booked in for a private scan in about 2 weeks so I think I'll just leave it at that. Thank you so much for all the info!

13DPO (equivalent as it was IVF) mine was 159 and I had twins 🤣

Dutchessofcake · 23/07/2021 13:59

@ivfgottwins Oh gosh, congratulations! A few people have said possible twins to me now. I'd love it but I think my husband would pass out at the very least Grin
