My ‘bump’ feels different

Hey! Okay so this might be a weird one and I know there’s not a right answer but wondering if anyone has experienced similar. My early scan (which I had a couple of weeks ago) dates me at 12 + 1 (LMP would be 11+ 5) and until now I’ve felt pregnant and had an obvious ‘bloat bump’. Well I’ve woken up this morning and my belly just feels different. It’s hard to describe but it doesn’t feel as full or ‘there’ as it usually does.

Has anyone experienced this? I seem to not “feel” pregnant whereas I have done up to now. Could it just be bloat easing off? My 12 week scan is next Thursday so guess I’m looking for a bit of reassurance (please no stories of MMC, I’m just looking for similar experiences at this stage of pregnancy). Thank you ❤️ x

I didn't have a bump at 12 weeks I seemed to lose the only pregnancy symptoms I had, my breasts were no longer painful.
All was fine though and it apparently quite normal.

Hopefully your upcoming scan will give you some reassurance.

Thank you for your response @NiceTwin I’m glad to hear that everything was okay for you, it’s good to know. Pregnancy is a crazy journey!

It will be bloat easing, your uterus is still tucked down behind your pubic bone at this point!

Thank you ☺️ I know I haven’t got a bump (hence the use of ‘’) but bloat bump is real (😅 right!) and was just seeking similar experiences of other women not feeling pregnant at this point

I'm 21 and barely have a bump. It used to come and go a lot and it is scary but everything's been fine so far!xx

Metallicalover · 22/07/2021 07:32

I had a lot of bloating in early pregnancy and I honestly thought... I must be carrying twins! 🤣
Woke up one day and my bloating was gone and I was worried my bump had gone!
Everything was fine! I was less bloated!
Hope your scan goes well OP! .

Yep same, I had a 'bump' until Sunday at 12 weeks exactly, it's now disappeared though. Perfectly normal.

Ahh thanks so much for your responses @mummyh2016 @Metallicalover @Katefoster you’ve made me feel a lot better with your similar experiences ❤️ Thank you! X

Bloating comes and goes and that has an impact. I was in maternity stuff at 8 weeks, then back in my normal clothes and now my bottoms are definitely maternity plus looser fitting old clothes. I’m 17 weeks and just look like I’ve put on some weight 🙄

Ednadidit · 22/07/2021 09:08

This happened to me when I was about 20 weeks. For about five days my bump became bigger and harder every day and I was so worried about it continuing at that rate for the next 20 weeks! Then I woke up one day and it was back to ‘normal’.

choccrumpet · 22/07/2021 09:21

I'm 9+2 and my bloat has been SO bad, it makes me look like I have a proper round bump, smaller in the morning, much bigger in the evening. It's nice to hear this isn't abnormal and good to know that it might just disappear one day to be replaced by a real bump 😅 I look forward to that as the bloat is so uncomfortable some days. Is there anything that could help keep it down a bit or do I just grin and bear it?

AllSinging · 22/07/2021 10:41

Aaahh thanks so much @Anon08 @Ednadidit it’s so helpful to hear that others have experienced similar too! No one tells you this stuff to prepare you do they

@choccrumpet oh I’ve been exactly the same! I haven’t found anything that’s helped although I haven’t been eating the most healthy of diets over the past few weeks thanks to nausea! I’m starting to feel a bit of bloat coming on now so perhaps it will just fluctuate over the next few weeks (months 😭)
