Just looking for reassurance or anyone who's had similar
At 2 weeks pp I had some oozing from a 1cm open area of my incision, had some antibiotics incase it was infected
Had a hard lump above the incision in the same area, does seem to have shrunk abit, not sure if it's internal or the open area
Had abit of drainage the last few days then a large amount on Monday, was seen in urgent care centre who gave me antibiotic and some dressings. They didn't mention the lump though
Has anyone else had this? It's only about 1-1.5cm but it's still abit open and oozing Sad

Keep contacting them and getting it seen!

Do not quietly put up with it.

It will take longer to heal if it’s been infected, it’s got to recover and heal

If it’s oozing keep it dry by changing dressing regularly and get it seen if it gets worse or isn’t noticeably improving in 24 hrs

Congrats on your baby too by the way

Hey OP
I had a c section last year and my scar also popped open and got infected and one side.
I had a 3 cm opening that oozed and just wouldn't heal, I ended up having 7 lots of antibiotics before it did.

Keep on top of your Dr and make sure you get it looked at if it continues to not heal.
Did they swab the would at urgent care to make sure you were on the right antibiotics for that kind of infection?

Mine also had a lump at the open side and the stitches hadn't dissolved at either side of the opening and were pulled too tight. I requested them cutting out and it healed a lot quicker after that. Have your stitches dissolved yet?

Also with it being summer I stuck a sanitary towel across my knickers at the front to rest against my scar so it kept it dry, and any time baby slept I laid down and allowed air to get to the wound to encourage it to dry.

Hope you feel better and are healing soon xx

I had this about 6 months after I had dd, it just randomly opened up. I think it was an ingrown hair in my scar line. I had it dressed with an iodine dressing and was given antibiotics. A week after that a plastic stitch poked out and I pulled it out. have a small lump above where it eventually healed but I can squeeze it myself every so often.

Scar has healed nicely.

I had this op. Went on for three / four months. Initially I was having it dressed every single day, this then dropped to every other day then two or three times a week. Lots and lots of different courses of antibiotics.

Felt like it would never heal and I was about to be referred on to somewhere else and then it just healed. Persevere. If you have a post partum dept at your hospital or a community midwife they might be the people to speak to.

Hope you're OK and enjoying little baby.

Thanks so much for the replies! I didn't have dissolvable stitches I had mine removed after 5 days (the ones with the little balls on the ends) they felt so tight and painful by then
At the walk in centre they did do a swab, I'm not sure how I'd get the results though
I'm away from home with family for the next month I really hope to avoid walk in centre/urgent care :( but will go if I have to
I'm almost half way through the course and it's still oozing, the morning after I'd been to see the doctor it looked better but now has gone back to as it was
I guess whatever is inside needs to drain out?!

A week after my section I bent down and it split open/oozed blood. I had a hard lump either side. Dr did say antibiotics but they made me ill. So I used neat tea tree oil dropped onto a sanitary towel/gauze - apply straight after a shower whilst lying down for five mins. Make sure the wound is always dry before dressing. Did this twice a day and it healed beautifully.

Well I'm almost at the end of my antibiotics, how would I know they are working/it's healing? Sill have some pus and clear fluid coming out, my mum seems to think this won't stop til everything has drained out?
