Just looking for some experiences as atm I’m currently nervous about how I’m going to cope with a very energetic toddler and newborn!
I’m currently 12 weeks with second DC, my DD will have just turned 2 when this baby arrives.
Anyone else have a similar age gap? What was your experience?

I'm no help. I'm 10 weeks preg and my DD will be 14 months when DC2 is born. I'm preparing for it being hell, but in the long run being easier because they'll be at same stage of development (ish) for most of childhood.
2 year gap seems likes ages to me :). Good luck!

I think that’s a fairly normal age gap, or seems to be at my children’s school. I had all my four in under four years so am the exception.

I had a 17month gap. It's bloody hard work not going to lie. In my personal opinion harder than twins (but on this forum you're now allowed to believe that!!!) . Although I feel i CAN make this statement as I had twins later on - they were a breeze in comparison.

It's a lot easier now they're 7 and 8. Big pluses though for the long run that they will always have a friend to play with.

18 months between my two. Only problem was when I changed 18m nappy, popped him on his feet so he could toddle off, changed newborn's nappy straight after, popped him on his feet to toddle off and he fell down!

Our 2nd and 3rd have 16.5mth gap, can be tiring with a baby/toddler. Nothing compared to having twins though, we had a set when 3rd was 2mth short of 3. Crazy but manageable.

I’ve got a 14 week old and her brother was 2 years 2 months when she was born.

I have good days and bad days! Try and get out the house as much as you can. Definitely have the older one in nursery a couple days if possible.

2 years between

  • DS1 & DS2
  • DS3 & DS4
  • DS5 & DD

2y3m between DD & DS6

it's fine.
and we didn't do it on purpose but it turned out very useful for infant school as we could always use the sibling rule
