Hi,

Hope someone can help. I took my pessary one hour late than usual. I’m really worried, will this affect my pregnancy in anyway as I’m still in the early weeks.

Not at all, you will be fine, I took them from 11 weeks till 36 took one when I got up one when I went to bed. Roughly around the same time but never timed it

@boymum88 thanks for the reassurance. I got myself really worked up about it just stressing out as it’s my first cycle of IVF.

Thank you again

@GreenShades I’m on them too, don’t worry if your timings aren’t exact it’s absolutely fine. How far along are you now?

GreenShades · 20/07/2021 21:49

@Sunbird24 I am 5w1d so very early days and constantly worrying things will go wrong, I don’t know why! What about you?

I’m 4+6, this is my 4th pregnancy but I’m still trying to have my first child, so totally get all the worry.

haidri · 20/07/2021 22:18

Does it matter if we miss a day by accident? Or is it essential to be exactly everyday?

Sunbird24 · 20/07/2021 22:24

Are you on them daily or twice daily @haidri?
Last time I was on them it took nearly 2 weeks after stopping for my MMC to become a MC, so I’d think you’ll have enough residual still in your system to keep you going. I’d still take the next one ASAP and check with whoever prescribed them though, to be sure

haidri · 20/07/2021 22:28

@Sunbird24 I'm having them once a day... it's just that when I take the pessaries I feel very lethargic and very hot "down there" & since it's so hot right now I can't afford to sleep in the hot weather with the pessary too.

Sunbird24 · 20/07/2021 22:36

Have you tried doing it in the morning, or (sorry 😣) sticking it up your bum instead?

haidri · 20/07/2021 22:44

@Sunbird24 for some reason my consultant was very specific in saying I should only take it at night & strictly vaginally 🤨

Sunbird24 · 20/07/2021 22:51

Oh, I wonder why that is?
This is what it says on mine, hope it gives you a laugh at least…

We were advised that they can irritate the cervix so the back route can be better when I did ivf.

Regarding timing, an hour here or there won't matter.
