Hello! I'm currently 17 weeks, first pregnancy and curious as to when people first felt flutters / kicks?
Midwife said it is usually at around 22 weeks Smile

I actually first felt “flutters” when I was about 19 weeks so it was quite early for me and this is my first pregnancy too. I wouldn’t describe mine as flutters / butterflies though, mine actually felt like a very light vibration feeling. As the weeks progressed they then turned into little nudges / pokes Smile

I felt it first at 17+6 & it was like bubbles popping. About a week later felt the first definite kicks & my partner could feel them from the outside then too. I'm now 22 weeks & baby has a definite pattern for movement, even saw them kicking for the first time this week which was weird at first but also exciting!

The first time I felt it was 17+5 and my husband could feel it with his hand by 20 weeks! And I have an anterior placenta to boot, so I really wasn't expecting it that early.

Felt flutters around 14 weeks and movement and kicks around 17 xx

I was 17w when I felt flutters, like butterfly wings in the very bottom of my tummy 😊. Around 21 weeks until I felt proper kicks and 24 weeks until my husband could feel them x

I’m pretty certain I’m getting movement at 20+5. They feel more like twinges/twitches for me. I’m trying to not get too excited about movements until tomorrow at my scan when I can confirm they are indeed movements and everything is fine. I started noticing the twinges at about 19.5 weeks or thinking they were movements then but I’d been feeling the twinges for a while before but only linked it to possible movements then.

I'm pregnant with my first and felt proper kicks from 18 weeks and my husband could feel them with his hand too 😊

Greengiraffe1 · 20/07/2021 20:34

I felt poke like feelings at around 19 weeks with my first, I had to hold my hand on my stomach and focus to feel them though.
I had an anterior placenta as well, so possibly would've had 'flutterings' before that but I never noticed them.

Chica1990 · 20/07/2021 20:35

I started feeling tapping just before my 20 week scan and it got more gradual from there! DH didn’t feel it for himself until 24 weeks

thebookworm1 · 21/07/2021 05:37

I started feeling flutters at 17 weeks and at 26 weeks my husband still can’t feel a thing despite baby kicking up a storm Smile

sarah13xx · 21/07/2021 08:52

Felt a big definite one on the outside at 19 weeks, before that I was never sure whether it was

Ughmaybenot · 21/07/2021 08:56

Flutters around 17 weeks, but honestly that was only cause people had told me specifically what it felt like, and even then I was a bit on the fence! But then proper kicks probably around 20ish weeks? I’m now 24.5 weeks and the kicks are ferocious and clearly visible from the outside Grin
It’s lovely, best feeling ever 🥰 congratulations Flowers

First pregnancy was really early - about 14 weeks, but he was a biggun'!

This pregnancy was about 17/18 weeks for obvious baby movement not wind.

I think when you start feeling it it tends to feel digestive/wind at first, but you'll probably feel definite 'oh yes, that's the baby' movements about 20-22 weeks :) x

queenie273646 · 21/07/2021 09:12

With my first I didn't feel anything concrete until I was 24 weeks , pregnant with no.2 atm and felt flutters at 16 weeks and definate kicks at 17/18 weeks .
