The dreaded nausea

Hey everyone!

I know everyone is different, but at what point did your nausea stop? Or at least get better?

I am nearly 13 weeks and had hope that this horrible constant sicky feeling would have gone by now! But it seems to be sticking on for dear life and not easing one bit!

I am just curious what all of your experiences with it are, and when (if ever) it got better for you?!

Ugh, it’s so horrible! Mine started easing at about 16 weeks and at 27 weeks it was almost gone. I’m 36 weeks now and still get a little bit every now and again but I’m most certainly enjoying me food again! Good luck x

Florarenniemackintosh · 20/07/2021 10:47

Yes mine eased off week 15 I think. I still get queasiness at week 21, but I also can eat like a normal person, too. Like curry, pastas, stew ... My sense of smell is still incredible and sometimes things still make me gag. A normal diet is just round the corner for you!!!

It started easing for me about 17 weeks. I still have the odd bit of nausea now at 20 weeks and sometimes the nausea is more related to acid reflux (I do feel different but still sick with both). There’s a few foods that are still a bit hit and miss. If I am nauseous now, then it only lasts a short time.

Mine was about 16 weeks, felt hungover 24/7 with vomiting pretty much every morning too. The nausea continued from about 12 weeks but I wasn't actually sick as much.

Then I started feeling better, had a chinese takeaway on a Saturday evening at about 16 weeks - randomly brought it all back up :( but from then on I have been fine! x

Amz6219 · 20/07/2021 11:33

Oh yes, and as PPs have said I have had the odd bout since then but it's mainly acidy / heartburn type nausea rather than that hungover type nausea (28 weeks now)

Following. 14 weeks today and nausea is showing no signs of going anywhere! For some reason I assumed it went for most people once they hit second trimester.

expectinglittlebear · 21/07/2021 14:42

@Dolly0706 This is literally me, apart from I am nearly 13 weeks. Honestly thought it would have gone by 12 weeks, or at least start to get easier.. if anything, its been worse this past week, vomiting as well as nausea!

Aw no, did you have much vomiting up to this point? My nausea has definitely got worse since 12 weeks and it’s been the closest I’ve been to vomiting. I naively thought I’d wake up 12 weeks and feel like a new person lol how wrong I was!

dorothygaleandtoto · 21/07/2021 14:46

I'm 17+4 and it hasn't subsided yet. It has reduced slightly, so that my worst time is late afternoon until I go to bed. I just get everything active that I need to do out of the way before late afternoon, then just yet and sit still for the rest of the day, which I find helps.

pixiedust21 · 21/07/2021 17:22

Unfortunately I don't think mine fully went away until about 19 weeks and then had a couple of random recurrences after that. I was also hoping for a magical fix at the 12 week mark but sadly not!

It's really awful.

Nat4392 · 21/07/2021 18:19

Mine started at 6 weeks and eased off around 16/17 weeks. I was so hoping it’d go around 12 weeks!

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 21/07/2021 18:47

it started early on with all of them, around 6-7 weeks.
Well, apart from with DS5: I was sick (as in puked) the morning after the night before and I just knew I was pg!

finished:
DS1: 13 w
DS2 : 14 w
DS3: 16 w, had a 2 month break where I was nauseated but not physically sick, then it all returned with a vengeance. I was sick 3-5 times a day
DS4 - 13 weeks
(MC at 12 w so it stopped then)
DS5 - 15 weeks, then a short break, low level nausea all the way through and I was sick occasionally. I also threw up right after he was born, it was quite horrible.
DD - actually I didn't feel very bad until 8 weeks. on w11 I threw up twice and that was it. all finished by 12w
DS6 - nausea & being sick the whole way through
