Do I call maternity unit?

25+2 today and have been having regular moments for the last few weeks and similar times of day.

Haven't felt baby move this morning or at lunch time, just had a cold drink and a lie down and felt a little roll and nudge, but I'd usually have expected more today.

Worth giving the unit a call or give it a little while and see if he wakes up later at his usual time?

Yes call if you're worried

Babyghirl · 19/07/2021 18:26

I would they say at that stage you should see a pattern 💚

TakeYourFinalPosition · 19/07/2021 18:28

I was told after 24 weeks there should be a routine, and to call if it changed - so I’d call, if you’re worried. They won’t mind and it’s better to get checked out.

careerchangeperhaps · 19/07/2021 18:30

Yes absolutely. No one will ever regret getting checked over but lots regret not speaking up.

Xyzzzzz · 19/07/2021 18:32

Call them. They’d rather check you out and everything is fine then miss something

30degreesandmeltinghere · 19/07/2021 18:36

Never a wasted call to a midwife..

Upupupintheair · 19/07/2021 18:38

I’m 24+4 and went in last night because of reduced movements (everything was fine). They made me feel really at ease and stressed that they’d rather see me and put me at ease rather than me sitting at home worrying…

Usernamenotallowed · 19/07/2021 18:42

Definitely call them.

girlmama32 · 19/07/2021 18:44

Definitely, I was always told they'd rather I call and it turn out to be nothing than not call and something happen. They will not mind at all!

TrevorWithTheWeather · 19/07/2021 18:53

Get on the phone to them. They're there for a reason. Hope all is ok x

nutellamagnet · 19/07/2021 18:56

Give them a call.

But "count the kicks" is from 28 weeks onwards. It's likely that your baby's just still small enough to "hide" or not be felt.

feb2022 · 19/07/2021 19:00

Yeah I'd deffo give them a call, trust your gut if you feel something is off x

toocold54 · 19/07/2021 19:10

They do have quieter days but it’s worth a quick ring to put your mind at rest. Say what you said and ask if baby’s heartbeat can be checked. They will be relieved you’ve rang up with a worry rather than sitting on it.

ExcitingTimes2021 · 19/07/2021 19:13

Give them a call if you are worried. Everything is probably ok but only you know your baby and body. They hospital have teams and equipment to deal with concerns like this. X
