Puffines won't go away on my feet, should I get checked or it is normal at 39 weeks?

I turned 39 weeks today, so far I didn't had any swelling. Since yesterday my both feet are swollen, i was moving, standing around a lot probably that caused. It's not like 3 times bigger than before but I can see it is swollen. Only the feet part, ankles/calfs are not, or hands/face ect. I always drink so much water so I keep doing this, resting my feet elevated, avoid salty/spicy food but it is stayed like this since yesterday. It's not red, or if i push in dosen't stay like that. A wee bit painful if i stand on it after a long period of resting but it's feels like when after i had an uncomfy shoes on. My midwife always said it is a problem if dosen't go away until the next morning but because it's only the feet swollen im not sure if it is a real problem or not..or should i phone the unit the check on me?

I puffed up at 38 weeks op! Everywhere!
I did get checked and everything was fine.
It is worth a call to put your mind at rest but I think it's fairly normal at the end.
Plus, this heat we're having aswell won't be helping!

It's probably nothing but you need a bp check. Ring up and make sure you get that. Baby moving ok?

Mamamamasaurus · 18/07/2021 17:46

Is everything OK in other respects of your pregnancy? Are you still feeling lots of movement?

I'd speak to a MW to double check, it could well be nothing but always recommend getting checked with a health professional

Bp is fine, i just checked. I have a wee machine here at home just in case I have to check any time. (Im paranoid on anything 😅) So far everything was absoluey okay through the pregnancy, every test/bp/urine test baby's size ect. He moving as usual, after he turned head down, and now he is engaged he is moving less than like between 20-30 weeks, I assume because the space. But he is definitely moving his wee arms/feet 🥰 I message the midwife just in case, see what she says

I would get checked out anyway it won't do any harm xx

Northernlurker · 18/07/2021 19:46

Babies don't move less because of the space. If you are still feeling the same frequency but it feels a bit different ok, but if less active then you should get checked tonight.

It's less compare to 10 weeks earlier, not less in the last couple of days. Today's movement feels the same as yesterday & the day before or last week. He is upside down since week 32, and now head is nearly fully engaged. He still absolutely loves pounching my bladder, I think that's his hobby 😅😆 I had a trip before to the unit about the movements, but luckily was everything fine back then, so I always keep my eye on him. I always say, I can't wait him to come out so I won't worry about these thing anymore, then I realize I'll worry about a thousand other things then.. 😅

I’m currently 37+3 and have swelling in my hands and feet. Spoke to midwife in the week and she has told me I have carpal tunnel in my hands and my feet are fine and to keep them elevated etc. She said unless there is excessive swelling that comes on suddenly then to definitely get it checked out. This heat really doesn’t help and my feet have been flaring up today. I am currently sitting here with my feet in cold water though and it is working a treat… Give it a go! Smile

Defo get checked. They don't mind Smile
