Not intending to get anything from this post other than to have a rant.
28 weeks pregnant today, the heat is getting to me. DP is at work until god knows when (he's a wedding co-ordinator and has a big wedding today)
My PGP is hurrendous today and I'm feeling total mum guilt towards my 15 month old DD who I dont have the way withall to play with. Thankfully the little mite is quite independant and will play on her own. I ordered us both maccys as I literally dont have the strength to cook dinner. Next door neighbours have music on and are having a BBQ whilst their two children go nuts in the garden. I am so jealous. Feeling like the worlds most pathetic mother right now. 😩

35 weeks and have done fuck all but eat today. My little girl has done a really good job at keeping herself entertained but I feel awful about it. Going to try and go for a walk with her in a bit but all I want to do is go to bed!

I feel like I’m going to turn into mr blobby because I literally can not stop eating from pregnancy and most probably boredom. Ugh.

This heat can do one.

ConradKnightSocks · 17/07/2021 17:40

You're not the world's most pathetic mother! You're doing your best in difficult circumstances. Sounds like dd is quite content and will soon have a full tummy. Be kind to yourself Flowers

I'm feeling fed up today too, so my turn for a rant! 36 weeks pregnant and heat is killing me. Seen to have developed some awful ligament pain today on top of a migraine. Husband away since Thursday for work and I have two other kids here to look after. I just want to lie down with a fan pointed at be & people bringing me stuff. I can't be arsed to cook anything either, just about have the strength to shuffle to the loo & back, so I've ordered pizza for the kids.

It's going to be even hotter tomorrow 😭😭😭

Chelyanne · 17/07/2021 17:42

I'm 35+4, I have spd/pgp too and can't do much without making sound effects or sitting down for breaks often lol. I've been out and mowed the lawn, done 4 big loads of washing and blown up and filled a new paddling pool for the kids with a bucket (yes it took me a while). Seems like I've been good but I've been rather grumpy because I'm so hot and bothered and only got about 4ish hours of broken sleep. Still got housework that needs doing but I've had enough for now. Hubby got home last night after being deployed since April so he walked the dog, emptied the bins and filled the car tank up for me while out buying a hose. I set up the bbq and he's cooking tea!!

MyGrassIsBrowner · 17/07/2021 17:55

Oh ladies I feel you all! Bloody hell what a shit show isn't it 😆 I wish I was sat in a pool with a massive bottle of cold stella. That would be bliss right now.
We're hoping to go to the beach tomorrow (will be DDs first ever visit) but I am on the fence now and can see it doing me over, but then again I've been in the house since god knows when and I dont think I can take much more before I shoot myself in the head 😆
Here's me moaning about my DP being at work, I dont know how you ladies cope with them being away for weeks at a time 😭 xx

Maccys came and I got pissed off as I asked for a book with DDs Happy Meal and they sent the crappy cardboard toy instead.. urgh!

This was me last summer. Today I put my gorgeous baby and her big bro in the paddling pool. It was all, ‘You sit there baby’ ‘Here’s the ball, baby’. It was so so sweet. Happy baby growing, folks

MyGrassIsBrowner · 17/07/2021 19:41

@motherofsnortpigs That sounds wonderful.

@MyGrassIsBrowner - I see my partner drinking cold cans of beer and I just drool all over the place! I still haven’t been out for a walk… I will do it though… ive eaten even more, including a magnum. Dear god.

Don’t beat yourself up if you can’t get to the beach - my kids know their school holiday is going to be massively compromised this year but we will make up for it. Mother in law invited me to the beach today - nope!

Cocomelon2019 · 17/07/2021 20:42

Yep! 16 weeks pregnant, been awake since 3am being sick (thanks HG) the heat is wild and my toddler has been absolutely full of energy today, he's run us both ragged and I feel so guilty we haven't left the house to do anything fun with him, though he's loved messing around in the garden. I have GD too and I'm so fed up of just drinking water that makes me feel sick 😑 Roll on next summer for a lovely cold pint of cider!!

MyGrassIsBrowner · 17/07/2021 21:04

@Sheisfee My DP has a nice cold bottle of white wine in the fridge waiting for him... grrrr 😒
See I can't each much now, I get mega bloated and end up in absolute agony for the rest of the evening.. fml 😭
I really hope I have it in me to go to the beach tomorrow, I just wanna wade (or in my case) waddle through the sea.. it'll be lush. But I'll have to see what I'm like in the morning.

@Cocomelon2019
Oh my hunnie I feel you. I had hurrendous sickness during the first trimester, I literally couldn't imagine having it in this heat. I hope it passes for you soon! At least your little one had fun in the garden today though!

I feel you!! I'm 30 weeks. Have high blood pressure which is making me feel rubbish and the heat makes me feel awful so haven't even left the house today 🙈

messybun101 · 17/07/2021 21:30

29 weeks tomorrow and I'm exhausted
I've just woken up from my 2 hour nap SK upset it's usually 2 hours longer but I'm bloated and can't get the wind out. But I've eaten so much the last three days I'm not surprised. It's my own fault and I can't stop
I described myself earlier as a bottomless pit.
I also described myself as Marshmallow Man in my cream pj's then eyed up DP eating a mini vienetta...

Touslesfromages · 17/07/2021 21:37

I'm 39 weeks and today has been unbearable. Fed my DD an M&S ready meal for tea because it was the most I could muster and now languishing in a cold bath. Dreading the even warmer temperatures tomorrow 😫

Thanks for starting this thread and giving us space to moan OP, I think my poor DH is sick of hearing me!

MyGrassIsBrowner · 17/07/2021 22:18

Moan away ladies! Though I'm glad I'm not the only one suffering right now. I had a cold bath tonight too and tbf it was lush. Struggled to get out though and emitted some odd moans and groans when I did, window fully open I do hope the neighbours didn't hear me.. 🤭
The only saving grace is we have a ceiling fan in the bedroom, downside is it's just blowing hot air around as it's still so warm.. 🥵

I think the cold bath might be my new home until I give birth or this heatwave is over, whichever comes first!

ScandiCrimeLover · 18/07/2021 09:09

I’m so fucking fed up with the heat today. It’s not going to start getting cooler until Saturday where I live, so I’ve got another 6 days of this. It’s my due date today, which doesn’t mean anything to me as my other three DC were at least 10 days overdue. I was hoping this DC might arrive a bit closer to the 40 weeks mark, but I know in my heart of hearts that’s not going to happen. I’m not pushing a baby out in this heat.

MyGrassIsBrowner · 18/07/2021 10:14

@ScandiCrimeLover Oh my god I can only imagine how you're feeling right now!
This heat is getting a bit much, it's not so bad when you're lounging on the beach sipping a cocktail or dipping in the pool, but we're just not equipped for it!
I hope your bubs doesn't keep you waiting too long!

EdithGrantham · 18/07/2021 10:33

40 weeks tomorrow and praying she stays in until it starts cooling down a bit because although I'm rather uncomfortable I just can't imagine giving birth in this heat. DH also has 7 more shifts at work to do without getting contact traced before he starts some holiday leave so also hoping she stays in so he doesn't have to start his paternity until after his holiday, and that he doesn't get told to isolate!

popcorndiva · 18/07/2021 10:40

39 weeks and suffering with dizziness and a migraine. Trying to guzzle water down but so sticky. Like pp hoping she stays in till next weekend when it's predicted rain and thunder. Will be appropriate thunder and lightning for a baby conceived at Halloween

ScandiCrimeLover · 18/07/2021 10:53

@MyGrassIsBrowner what I wouldn’t give for a cocktail or ten! I’m starting to think I’m jinxed when it comes to childbirth and the weather. Last DC was a winter baby, born during a snowstorm. The midwife couldn’t come out to visit the day after the birth, making me feel very much on my own with a new baby. I’d still take the colder weather and snow over this! Smile

MyGrassIsBrowner · 18/07/2021 11:00

Jesus ladies I feel you, I'm not even ready to pop yet and I feel like this heat is gonna kill me off. Can totally understand you all not wanting to give birth in this heat especially if you're going into hospital... ugh I bet it's torture in there right now they're always stuffy even on a cold day!
Right now I would welcome a flurry of snow 😆😆

Me and DP are visiting my mums today, gonna take DDs paddling pool and I'll probably roach on the sofa in the cool whilst DD gets spoilt. Gonna go buy some mr freeze pops and probably wallop the full box 😆

Oh I wish I found this thread yesterday. I'm 25 weeks and struggling in the heat too. My almost 2 year old is going through a phase of doing everything we tell him not to do and I ended up crying and going to bed last night, feeling pathetic. Let's put it down to the heat, hormones, pregnancy pains & hope for a better day today 💗

Bellyrumble · 18/07/2021 11:34

Wish I’d seen this yesterday
30 weeks and oh my goodness it’s horrible! Really feel for those of you with other children or ready to pop, keep at it! If we got through yesterday we’ll get through today

I spent 2.5 hours ironing this morning before it got too hot later today. I’m glad I accomplished something because I intend on doing nothing but eating ice cream, laying on the sofa (indoors) u til bedtime 🥱

Vie8126 · 18/07/2021 12:07

38 weeks and struggling. DP put a paddling pool up and the umbrella for me but it just gave me heat rash. Back to the sofa with the fan. Kids are isolating and bored (teenagers) as well as eating me out of house and home. Feel sick with the heat and don't even get me started on sleeping. Do not fancy a hot maternity ward in this weather but equally finding my huge bump unbearable. Sweep on Tuesday.

MyGrassIsBrowner · 20/07/2021 13:32

@Bellyrumble dont even talk to me about ironing I've got a pile of my DP work shirts to iron and I keep putting it off so hats off to you for spending a whole 2.5 hours ironing 😆🙌

@Vie8126 Have you had your sweep yet hun? Hope it kicks things off for you. Weather is supposed to be cooling off in the next few days thank god!

Xx
