Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum and last night I wanted to delete it, as been crying loads and thinking the worse, but thought to carry on. I've had 2 miscarriages before and yesterday went to get a reassurance scan (private) but they could only see a gestational sac and a yolk sac (but no embryo) I should be 7 weeks today, but they reckon its still very early and to rescan in 2 weeks. Was just wondering if anyone had experienced this and gone on to seeing their little babies. Thank you in advance 😌

Sorry @Elbow25 I don't have any experience of this but wanted to bump the post for you to see if anyone else comes along that can reassure you.

Hope everything works out! Best of luck for your next scan x

I've had early miscarriages too but most before viability scans. Because I'm an Ivf patient and I'm on a lot on forums I have often read of women that had scans where not much could be seen and they returned a week later to find a heartbeat. What is an important difference is that with ivf you exactly know when conception occurred but with natural pregnancies your pregnancy is calculated with your last period. So it can be that you ovulated later than you thought or that the embryo took longer to implant in which case you may be closer to 6 weeks at which stage it is even more normal that your embryo needs to grow a bit more before it can be seen. So I don't think you need to be worried. It's great that they could see a gestational sack. Hang in there! Xx
