Mine were almost 1500 at almost 4+5 and 3800 at 5 weeks. I would say don't let them scan you until they're over 1500 as they often can't see anything below then and it's scary. They scanned me at 4+5 and couldn't see anything, two days later they saw the sac and yolk. But for those two days I was worried it was another failed pregnancy

@Mummy201420202022 they suggested mine might be an ectopic also, I remember how worrying it was. Hopefully you're just a bit earlier than you think - maybe ovulate a bit later in cycle etc. I temped so was fairly sure of my dates.

I think (not positive but was quizzing sonographer) that at those hcg levels they cannot see anything in the tubes either. Apparently you can tell if it might be more likely to be a uterine pregnancy from the thickness of your lining so you might want to ask about that at the scan if they don't see anything. A lining of more than 12 mm suggests it will be a uterine pregnancy rather than ectopic - there were some studies done on it also that I read after my appointment.

Good luck x

Sorry you’re going through this, my stagnant blood levels did signal my ectopic. Echoing what the previous poster said, they couldn’t find my ectopic on a scan as the hcg level was just only just over 200ish. It needs to be over 1000 to show up on a scan unfortunately, I had so many scans where they couldn’t see anything! Have you had any bleeding or pain?

Depending on your next bloods you may need a laparoscopy like I did, they removed mine during the procedure. It’s best to tackle the situation now before it’s an emergency situation.

Best of luck to you 💐

@Mummy201420202022 no it didn't, I'm now almost 11 weeks. My uterine lining was 13 mm from memory, so even though they couldn't see anything on the 1st scan, I waited for the next scan to see. Next scan showed it in the right place.

I was only five weeks though, had I been a week or two further along I'd probably have been more worried because I think 6+ weeks is when it can rupture.

@Mummy201420202022 if your midwife doesn't think anything is wrong, that's good. Your levels are rising and if they're only dating you from LMP then that could be where the error is

Hi OP,

I really don't want to add to your worry or stress, but this is how my ectopic was diagnosed. My HCG draws started low, almost (but not quite) doubling. I had three transvaginal scans before they found it in my right tube (when bloods had gone to >2080) and I was then treated with methotrexate.

I'd had a tiny bit of spotting but no pain or anything, only a gut feeling.

I have everything crossed for you that yours is a happier ending than mine. If it is ectopic, although it's a really hard thing to go through, it does get easier and lots of women (including myself) manage to get their rainbow. xx
