Twin pregnancy

Hello,
I went for an early scan yesterday (thought I was 6+2) and I found out I’m having twins 😬 I’m measuring between 5&6 weeks but twin 2 is measuring smaller than twin 1, and so I’ve been told there may be a chance that twin 2 won’t develop any further. Has anyone been told this and then gone on to have 2 healthy babies? I have to go back in 2 weeks for another scan

I had twins in January - at 6 weeks pregnant one of my twins was measuring around 3 days smaller. Her gestational sac was also much much smaller but both had heartbeats. At 7 weeks still a couple of days difference between the two but my smaller twins sac measured a week behind so was very worried about her but both had very strong heartbeats. Same at 10 weeks and 12 weeks. From 14 weeks until the End of my pregnancy my little twin measured between a week to 2 weeks smaller than my big twin. She was born over 2lbs smaller but otherwise healthy although they were 6 weeks premature

How much smaller is your little twin? If both heartbeats detected and they are a good rate then you have a good chance of both of them making it x

Hello, awww congratulations!
So twin 1 was measuring 0.9mm and twin 2 0.7mm.
We thought we could see a heartbeat on twin one but not on twin two but the sonographer said it was too early really to detect a heartbeat so not to worry about that and that’s why I have to go back in two weeks. From the internet there seems to be lots of posts etc about vanishing twin syndrome but I could find any positive posts so yours has given me some hope! Xx

Hi there have you got CRL measurements quite right? Do you mean 9mm and 7mm?

I checked what mine were at 6+2 and they were 4.8mm and 5.3mm

Around 7+2 they were 11mm and 9mm x
