Fed up

I'm nearly 30 weeks pregnant.
I'm having issues with high blood pressure, on medication but it isn't keeping it low, just at the higher end of normal.
Baby is measuring small so they have increased my growth scans to every 2 weeks instead of 4. Plus weekly midwife visits for Bp check & bloods.

The High BP is making me feel ill quite a lot, dizzy, shakey etc and I cannot go out in my own incase I have a dizzy spell (I end up nearly passing out at times).
I have 2 other children who I can't really do anything with and have to spend lots of time laid down.

Not really sure what the point of the post is, just feeling a bit fed up and wondering how ill make it another 10 weeks!

@crobo87 Ergh that's really sucky and exhausting :(
I'm surprised with high blood pressure and small readings that they don't want to induce you early or c section? Xx

I think because my Bp isn't excessively high at the moment they aren't just keeping an eye on it. I have to have it checked every week.
No signs of pre eclampsia at the moment either 🤞🏻🤞🏻.

I have another scan Monday and then see what happens from there

@crobo87 I feel your pain!! It's crap! Thought I was the only one fed up at this stage as most who say they are are 36+ weeks. Think all the extra appointments and not being well go a long way to making you fed up earlier.

30+3, type 1 diabetic, very low blood pressure and baby measuring small.

I'm hoping to go to fortnightly scans rather than the weekly ones I'm having at the moment which are a 5 hour round trip away.

Only light for me is that I won't be allowed to go past 38 weeks and the consultant doesn't seem confident I'll get that far so less than 8 weeks left!!

crobo87 · 16/07/2021 21:35

@Gem176 oh gosh, 5hour round trip ain't good!

Luckily I'm pretty close to the hospital. 4 times I've been there this week, twice next week 🙈🙈.
I don't have a plan going forward yet, no idea if I'll go full term or not.

Hope they let you have your scans every 2 weeks xx

@crobo87 it's not ideal but thankfully all my midwife appointments are just 10 mins down the road, it's only scans and consultant appointments that are the big journey!

That's a lot of appointments even if it is close by. Don't know about your hospital but every appointment at ours takes at least an hour and a half and it's just so bloody knackering in this heat!

Thankfully my DD is away with my mum for a week so I don't feel so bad as like you I can't do much with her as I have a lovely tendency to get really faint/lightheaded so don't want to go too far from home 🙄

Gem176 · 16/07/2021 22:11

@crobo87 hit send too soon 🤦🏻‍♀️

Do you have anyone that can take your two older kids out for a while to give you a rest?

Don't know about you but I'm struggling with being semi useless!! Xx

crobo87 · 16/07/2021 22:14

@Gem176 yes my appointments are long too. My midwife is based at the hospital so I have to go there weekly for my blood pressure checks. Costing me a fortune in car parking lol.

My older 2 have a different dad so they do get days out with him and my partner takes them out. I just feel bad that I can't do as much as I'd like with them. This weekend for example, the heat is making me a right off. Only popped to the shop earlier and had to come in & lay down straight after 🙈
