Hello all

Pregnancy seemed a weird place to post this but I’m hoping some of you ladies will understand. I’m feeling very anxious about freedom day and it’s our 2nd wedding anniversary on Tuesday. We have mon-weds off work, weather looks lovely.

Had planned to go to the Ivy or a local small proper french restaurant but I’ll be 30 weeks next week and I’m unvaccinated. Don’t feel comfortable going out now especially with restrictions being lifted the day before.

Any ideas on a nice at home dinner and how to make it extra special? I can cook, although don’t want to be stood over cooker all night, I do like making nice food.

I feel like I’m letting DH down by making him stay in for the foreseeable and I’ve been quite upset about it. If ideas I can put into motion before Tuesday, I’ll probably feel lots better.

Buying him a shirt as that’s cotton so we can dress up.

Any ideas- food wise, decor wise, or anything else?!

I’ve read that many places are keeping the covid restrictions in place even after Monday. So if that’s your worry, maybe worth calling some of your fave places and asking? Enjoy

If you have a garden, string up some fairy lights in the trees or along the fence. Light some candles and eat outside. I'd go for something simple to cook but not every day - like the M&S dine in for two or Cote from home or Cook so you don't have much prep to do and can focus on relaxing together.

Thanks ladies some great suggestions as always.

As it happens it’s 12 years tomorrow since we met and we were pretty young so could recreate packed lunch sandwiches and a cup of tea at lunchtime tomorrow 😂

The côte to go looks good (never seen it before so thank you!) and I like the idea of dining in the garden.

I think I’m going to just have to get over the fact that realistically we won’t be going out, and make the most of being home! Not much we can do about covid is there.

Suppose we’ll be saving some money by not dining out too so could have a couple of nice dinners over the weekend/ our days off.

I was gifted a Rick Stein dine at home meal for my birthday and it was delicious, could be an idea! 😊My anniversary is next week
too, thinking it’ll be home based too!
