I went for my 20 weeks scan yesterday, I’m 21 weeks today and they told me my baby has echobright areas within his liver, they’ve referred me to the Fetal medicine unit at my hospital but the appointment isn’t till the end of the month. Another 14 days! They couldn’t tell me anything at the appointment as the sonographer had never seen it before. I’ve been up all night with worry! Has this happened to anyone else? And Is there anyway I can be seen quicker as I know my worry will turn in to panic attacks because I’m not getting enough sleep and I just need answer to know if every is okay?!

Get back in touch with them, and ask them if there is any chance to be seen earlier. Two weeks is a long wait, especially for something 'they have never seen before' and hence don't know what it might be a marker of. If you can't convince them, then contact PALS in your hospital. They should respond to a query/complaint within a very short time-span. Handhold for you, OP. Don't hesitate to advocate for yourself and baby.

I was in quite a state when they told me so I could not really digest what it was they was saying, but she did say calcifications on the liver. The first sonographer thought it was on the bladder but the second confirmed they are on the liver which she said she has not seen before personally and I need to be seen by specialist. I did ring them this morning and there was no answer, Im gonna try again tomorrow!l. It’s ridiculous!! I haven’t heard of PALS but will go straight to them if still no prevail in the morning. I do get very nervous when ringing up especially as they said if something comes up sooner they would let me know, but like you said I need to advocate for my baby!! Time to toughen up! Thank you so much for taking the time to reply!
