Persistent protein in urine

Hey guys,

I'm 36 weeks and I've had protein in my urine at every single appointment since my booking in, however they keep saying I don't have pre eclampsia and my blood pressure is mostly fine (had the odd one off high reading).

Has anyone else had persistent protein and it not been pre eclampsia? If so what was recommended, were you induced early? Thanks guys!

I had persistent protein in both pregnancies, and I didn't have any problems. Both went to full term and the only problems they had were jaundice. No idea why I had protein, but hopefully you are the same and it is nothing to worry about.

@Bagpussmouse thank you for your comment! That's reassuring! I'm hoping it's nothing for me too as I'd love to avoid induction if possible!

Hi, I had some trace protein in my urine at my appt today and I asked the midwife about it (I was thinking great pre-eclampsia) and she said it could be from contamination of the container, protein from vaginal discharge, protein from semen if you've had intercourse in the last 24hrs or obviously a sign of pre-eclampsia.

I, like you, have always had stable blood pressure and no other signs.

It's hard becos I want her to test me for it but I guess if there were any other signs then she would!! I've just bought myself a blood pressure monitor just in case anything happens between now and my next appt.

@Rubyrecka yeah I think usually when it's just trace amounts they aren't as worried! Hopefully all stays well with you though!!
