Breasts leaking 21 weeks

Is it normal to have leaky breasts this early on in pregnancy? 21weeks

It's not LEAKING leaking- so they aren't dripping when untouched, but there's definitely a little bit coming out when my boobies are squeezed.

Its clear liquid- I guess this is colostrum?

Do I need to do anything?
I've heard of people collecting it but I haven't read up on that yet so any advice would be great please!

(I was doing my weekly breast check to see if there was any lumps and as I gently squeezed and prodded my nipples did a leak.)

Also is it normal for it to leak out in a couple of different places on my nipples and not just from 1 area?

Thanks!

Yes all normal, nothing to be concerned about.
I wouldn't advise to stimulate them for hand expressing until 37 weeks though, as there is a very small risk of making the uterus contract. Your hospital or midwife can discuss antenatal hand expression with you and go through any benefits and risks tailored to your own situation.

Yes perfectly normal. Mine started at 17 weeks! As pp said though, don't stimulate them through hand expressing until 36 ish weeks. There is some (weak) evidence it can stimulate oxytocin release which can cause uterine contractions and start labour. Not worth the risk 👍

And perfectly normal for it to be coming out of different places on the nipple too 😀

Perfectly normal! You can hand express and freeze some from 35 weeks so that your partner can feed if you’re too tired or just so that you have a supply of the good stuff for babe when they arrive. Look up colostrum harvesting - you can get feeding syringes free from midwife xx
