Stalled labour: any tips?

My waters broke at 1am and contractions started with them. Midwives wanted to assess me within 4 hours. Regular contractions but not of any significant intensity and cervix closed. Sent home as expected and told to wait until they’re stronger. They did get stronger but they came less and less frequently before stopping at about 1pm. I managed to get an hours nap in and am having one or two very mild, very short contractions an hour. Been walking, trying to stay active but also relaxed and rested. Baby is moving fine. If I’m not in active labour by 1am tomorrow they’ll want to induce me (which I’m fine with, seeing it as a “leg up” more than anything) but if there is anything I can do to jump start it please let me know!! I’m just a bit bummed more than anything as things seemed to be progressing well earlier today.

Worst thing you can probably think of doing right now but have sex!

Sadly not recommended because of my waters, and persuading DH would be a mission anyway 😂

Walk walk walk. Bounce on your ball. Climb on your bed in different positions. Keep moving basically!

@PurBal ahh yes Sorry 🤦🏼‍♀️

I hope things get moving for you soon!

Getting on all fours and cleaning the skirting boards sent me into labour...

Walking up and down the stairs sideways.
Do try and get some rest though and eat if you can. The more sleep you have now the longer you’ll be able to manage for when things get going.

Climb stairs.

Thanks for the tips. Kept moving this evening but headed to bed to rest as much as possible. Expect a call from the midwife soon, but will probably wait until morning before heading in.
