Sorry this is a bit of a moan/ rant/ did anyone else go through this or similar?

I had a growth scan on the 17th of June at 32+1 weeks due to me suffering from an autoimmune condition in my teens. There was no indication it would affect my pregnancy but as its quite rare my consultant wanted to be cautious.
At this scan all was well but baby was measuring above the 99th percentile and estimated at 5lb5. The consultant referred me to the hospital diabetes team to be tested for GD, being past 32 weeks the OGTT wouldn't be accurate so I assumed I was being referred for either a fasting glucose test or HbA1c test.

After a couple of weeks I hadn't had a letter or phone call about an appointment but I was in maternity triage due to very regular braxton hicks so I asked about it there, the doctor at triage said they could see a referral on the system but not for a blood test so they put through (another) urgent referral for me to be seen by the diabetes team.

I had a midwife appointment last Friday and still hadn't had any contact from the diabetes team so I brought it up in my midwife appointment who referred me for a third time to the diabetes team. I got a call a couple of hours later asking if I could come for an appointment at the EPAU for a blood test today at 9am. I didn't get a letter or any instructions as to fasting or not fasting so to be on the safe side I fasted from 8pm last night.

I went into my local hospital for the appointment only to be told that I had been booked for an OGTT and that they couldn't perform any blood test and was sent away with them saying we won't test you but will treat you as if you do have GD in terms of delivering earlier and keeping baby in for 24hours for monitoring.

Obviously at this point I was pretty peeved and confused and feeling rather fobbed off! Especially with them deciding to assume I have it for the birth but offer any advice RE diet or anything other than 'you can ask questions at your next consultant appointment'.

A couple of hours after I left hospital I received a call from a Midwife at the EPAU saying that I should never have been referred for a test at all but I should have been referred for glucose monitoring and that she was trying to arrange with the diabetes team for me to come back in and start with that. I felt a bit better knowing someone was trying to get me some answers but more confused about tbe whole situation as the consultant I saw last month specifically mentioned a blood test appointment.

I have a growth scan and consultant appointment again this Thursday exactly 4 weeks after my last scan and feel like in 4 weeks I should have had more answers than I do now and have actually gotten past the point of an initial appointment regarding GD.

I just feel so frustrated with it all! I've had excellent care from my local hospital so far but this has really made me want to transfer to my alternative hospital.
